Stayed for 2 nights in Nairobi, hotel was clean, but dated, food was below average. We had booked 3 double rooms, which were large and spacious. Shower and room facilities were adequate for our stay, but one room did not have any hot water on the first morning and needed an engineer to fix, which was sorted quickly. Hotel had a swimming pool which was one of the main reasons we choose the hotel for our kids to use, but for the 2 days we were at the hotel the pool was being cleaned so was not usable.
We recently spent our Easter weekend in Nairobi. This was a perfect quirky place to stay in. We wanted something different from the high rise chain hotels. The staff are supper friendly. Wasini is actually apartment hotel, one can prepare one's meals in the fully equiped kitchens. The hotel offers a lovely breakfast, not to fancy though. We were fetched from the airport by a gentleman called David, organised by the hotel. He even took us on tours to the Nairobi national parks and nakuru nat park. He is very knowledgeble. Contact him on +254725639012. We used him for all our excursions. The reason I havent given the hotel 5stars is because the shower pressure is really weak. But the bathrooms have nice jacuzzis.
As serviced apartments go, Wasisni is perfectly good. The rooms are sufficiently large, the kitchens stocked with basic utensils and the staff are friendly. It is however relatively expensive to eat at their restaurant and you are hopefully not in a hurry if you do. I’d recommend venturing out to one of the many restaurants nearby / a short taxi ride. Overall though, a nice stay.
This could be a great place for a couple of nights in Nairobi. It's close to nightlife and restaurants. But we didn't have a pleasant experience. Our original booking showed us in a ground floor suite, but when we arrived, we were told we were on the top floor. This was the end of our Kenya holiday, so we had some very heavy bags to carry, with no elevator, so we asked for our original room. We were then given the choice of two - one with only one bed of the two made up, and the other with a spare bed in the second bedroom that we were told couldn't be removed because they didn't have the manpower! We eventually plumped for that suite, and removed the bed ourselves since it blocked the wardrobe. Then we discovered that we had no hand towels in the bathroom, and no bath mat for the floor. Anyway, we got that sorted out and the following day of our stay was fine. We did try to get some time by the pool, but because it's on the ground floor, and surrounded by a 4/5 storey hotel, there wasn't much sun to be had. The restaurant/coffee shop staff was generally good, although my travel companion was charged the wrong amount when she ordered a snack. She was assured that it would all be rectified at check out - it wasn't. We had been advised that breakfast started from 6:30 am, which was great since on our final day we were checking out and had a car picking us up at 7 am for a day trip before heading to the airport for our flight home. When we arrived at the breakfast area at 6:30, the place was in darkness, and the receptionist was asleep. We had to wake people up to get food, and were told that most people aren't up and about at that time! If that's the case, don't advertise breakfast at 6:30 am! We were still trying to finish breakfast at 7:15 while our driver waited for us, so we asked for the breakfast charge to be waived as a gesture of good faith. That fell on deaf ears. So we asked if we could have a room free of charge for after our trip so we could freshen up before going to the airport, and that was also declined. I'd like to give this place a better review because it isn't really that bad. Apart from the restaurant staff and the security, the customer service really lets it down.…
Wine bar had 2 bottles of wine. Restaurant had no ketchup. Told them I had no hot water. They said maintenance set it so wait. But then I told them there was no water coming and they told me that maintenance left for the day. So how did they set my hot water? With remote? We'll see what happens from here....
Quiet environment Good services, clean and serene place for local and foreign tourists Good penthouse with jacuzzis and well spaced and furnished place Would recommend a friend to visit the place and I'm sure he /she will enjoy
I'll only say i was impressed by the facilities and the cleaning lady at Ngalawa and the two lady receptionists. But thats just sbout it. Cold water..pathetic breakfast menu.. You tried but for the amount paid you shoukdnt be trying you should be doing great
Several Things: >>Reception-If you have an issue you might have to go there at least 5 times before it can be fixed. They say ok for everything but don't attend to the issues on time >>No elevator, so you have to pick a lower level floor if you are there for a long stay and don't want to climb 3 levels up >>Noise-Horrible. A lot of noise from the Churches nearby during the weekend. You can't sleep. On the ground floor you can always here people at the restaurant. Very clear I must stay. Their windows allow even for a mosquito noise outside to be heard. Very thin. Ooh and the fountains outside add up to that noise as well. You can hear every water drop. >>The cabinets in the bedrooms are falling on each other. Very risky. >>Bathroom floor is uneven and holds plenty of water while you shower. Water flow is very bad, I end up wasting a lot of time for showers. Curtain poles in the bathroom are very rusty. I think they've been there for ages. >>Extremely poor lighting. The place looks so dark. In addition to that, my bedroom light seems to work may be two days in a week only. I inform them, they say they'll fix it and all should be ok when I'm back. So far the problem seems to persist. >>Mosquitos-plenty of them, buy your own spray as I don't think they spray frequently >>Drinking water-I'm here for 3months. When I arrived I was briefed about all the amenities and stuff that gets provided to my apartment. Was told to call reception if I run out of drinking water and they'll refill immediately. 2 weeks into my stay, I find a note on top of the microwave that says management has decided to stop refilling water. You will get only one 10L bottle per month. If you want more you buy at Kes 450 per 10L bottle. And I thought I have a 3months contract and all over a sudden all this cost is added from no where, wooow theft at its best. This is my experience so far for the 3weeks I've been here. The apartment needs serious renovation from the front door to the bathrooms and bedrooms. …
the rooms were spacious as we stayed in a 2 bedroom suite apt. No complaints except the phone in the room didn't work well, the shower was cold until we had maintenance come twice for hot water and they never provided enough towels so we had to call each day for extra towels. Otherwise I can recommend it.
