We stayed four nights at the Philae Hotel, chosen based on good reviews in the Lonely Planet and Tripadvisor. They upgraded us from a standard double to a suite, which was enormous, very clean, and very well kept. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, and the owner was really kind and gave us some good tips...

Fantastic hotel right in Aswan, well priced and staff very helpful in arranging things. Stay was only for a couple of nights prior to leaving for a trip to Abu Simbel and then a cruise down the Nile. Only downside was our air conditioner in the room sounded like a jet engine, given the heat we decided it was better...

We stayed in Aswan for just one night in early October of this year prior to leaving on a cruise down the Nile. We selected this hotel due to the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We booked a standard double room, when we arrived they advised that they had saved us the presidential suite (not sure why, but we weren't...

We visited Egypt with family few weeks ago, and this was our first visit to the country. The hotel staff was very courteous. Facilities are as excellent. They arranged our trip to Abu Simbel and made sure we were comfortable.

We needed a hotel in which to spend the day as we were taking the night train to Cairo. We were thrilled to find Philae, and super bummed that we hadn't decided to stay here for our three days in Aswan. I'm still kicking myself for not going with our first instinct to listen to the tripadvisor reviews (instead we...

This is not a five star hotel, it is a six or seven star hotel. The Philae Hotel is located along the Corniche in Aswan, just a five minute taxi ride from the train station, and directly across the road from many of the cruise ships that go up/down the Nile. It is between some shops and has a ground...

The rooms were spacious, clean, quiet and modern. The manager, Hanan, of the hotel is absolutely one of the nicest people we met while in Egypt. She is extremely pleasant and helpful. The location is lovely and overlooks the Nile. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Food - amazing! Staff super friendly. Bed - the best I've stayed in in Egypt so far. Such a great place to escape the heat and relax.
