Nice small and clean hostel with very kind people working there. After an exausting day trip through cairo you can always drink a cup of shei in the lobby and chit-chatting with the personel. Really a place to come home to and rest, talking about the nice things you can see in cairo.

The staff and facilities were about as good as I would have expected for downtown Cairo - both were great. The 3 stories of stairs to climb was torture, though. At the end of a long tiring day of climbing and touring, the last thing I wanted to do was climb those stairs, and they didn't have air conditioning or... More

The staff of the hostel is very friendly and open to helping everyone that comes into the hostel. It was immediately evident that the workers there loved the people that came in and made us feel at home. They gave great advice and helped with any crazy requests they could accommodate. I met a ton of awesome people from around... More

From the very moment I booked this hostel 3 months before going to Cairo, I received an email from their staff welcoming me and making themselves available for any questions I had. I send many emails along these months and I quickly received an answer back having all the infos I needed. That was fundamental to make myself comfortable to... More

Cairo as a city can be a bit abrasive and hectic but the staff here makes you feel at home. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming -- Ahmed, Eslam, Mostafa, Sare are all very helpful and resourceful. They can help you with everything from airport transfers, setting up tours for sightseeing, ordering food for you, making you delicious coffee,... More

Toilets always clean, fast wifi, comfy beds, good shower, good breakfast and the nicest staff you will find. I used the hostel to... More

I stayed here one night in a shared room with AC. The other patrons were very respectful of quiet time and the beds were comfortable and clean. The hostel is in a lovely location near Tahrir Square and they offer airport pickup and rides to the pyramids. The staff was so sweet and offered us water as soon as we... More

The location is great, right in the heart of Cairo and a short walk to the Metro and Tahir Square. The really great thing though are the staff. They are always there to help you with anything you need and go out of their way to make sure you have a great time in this crazy city. They will order... More

The staff at Freedom Hostel is hands down the most helpful and enjoyable group of people you will find in Cairo. Eslam, Mustafa, Ahmed, and the rest were not only knowledgable about anything and everything in Egypt but—especially as a solo traveller—really looked out for you. Whether planning a fun day trip the morning of, or planning a whole weekend... More
