What a little gem the Golden has become! After being closed for more than a decade, it was completely renovated four years ago -- simple rooms, spotless bathrooms, great water pressure. Lovely chill vibe. Decent free wifi. The co-owner and manager, Sharif, is so welcoming and helpful -- and makes you breakfast. And the location, right downtown just off Talaat...

We stayed 3 nights in Golden Hotel. If you don't care to stay in a place not so beautiful, and you believe that the assistance is what really counts, so, relax and book some days here. Cairo is a special place and Sharif, the owner, made it better for us. Talk with him, and you will understand what I mean....

I discovered this small hotel through Tripadvisor and I wasn't disappointed. Thanks to its central location, its cleanliness and its friendly service, it is better than many expensive hotels in Cairo.

Very nice small hotel in Downtown Cairo. Very clean and nice people. Great to stay for some days. The hotel is at the third floor from a old building. The little restaurant has a balcony Very nice to eat your breakfast there.

I was coming to Cairo, having never been before. The folks at the front desk arranged my pick up at the airport for a very reasonable fee ($15 US). Rooms are well equipped with a fridge. Excellent breakfast included in the nightly fee, as is Wi-Fi. They also arranged an excellent tour of the pyramids even though I was alone....

The building in general is a bit old, and the elevator doesn't give a good impression. But the service is good, you have what you need. And the location is great, because is very central, but on the other hand is very noisy. You have two great cafes really close: Café Riche and Gruppy.

Waking distance to Egypt museum, which is the top place to visit. The street is a little bit noisy but I can sleep well. Stuffs are friendly and offered us as much help as they could! Thank you all! And breakfast is also included, so the room rate is quite valuable. By the way, the stairs, the elevator, the whole...

Just a few minutes away, easy walking distance from the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities and the Nile River. The Golden Hotel is perfect for exploring the "Real Cairo" and if you like shopping Talaat Harb Street has numerous clothing and shoe stores for you. For me it was how centrally located it was, just a easy walk away. The Hotel's...

5 minutes walk from Tahrir Square, in the heart of Downtown, this place is good value, with simple but fine facilities in the room. They allowed us to leave luggage for the day until our overnight train journey. The breakfast was fine. It's a shame that there are not more extensive communal areas as the room was rather small and...

Don't get fooled when you enter the building! The entrance is on a very busy street just a couple blocks away from Tahir Square in central Cairo. When we walked in, we thought we made the wrong choice, but we were pleasantly surprised when we reached the third floor of the building. The Golden Hotel occupies the third and fourth...
