I had an amazing stay at Novotel Cairo El Borg! From the moment I arrived, the reception team went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. A special thanks to Mohammed at the front desk for his exceptional hospitality and professionalism—he truly made my experience unforgettable.
The housekeeping service was also impeccable. Kenawy ensured my room was always spotless and well-prepared, adding a personal touch that made me feel right at home.
The hotel’s central location and stunning views are a bonus, but it’s the outstanding service that truly sets Novotel Cairo El Borg apart. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cairo and look forward to returning soon!
Once I arrived at the hotel early morning, I was told by Ossama at the front desk that normal check in was 2 PM, but he could provide me with a room right away for an extra charge of $40. Since I was exhausted from a long travel, I agreed to take that room and pay the $40. He then asked me to wait for half an hour while they get that room ready. It turns out that in fact he did not have a room to give me but rather wanted me to sit in the lobby for God knows how long in hopes of another guest checking out early. What kind of a hotel pulls that nonsense. In any case, I told him that I was leaving my suitcase with them, and that I will return at normal check in. Once I came back, they checked me in, but to my surprise, they told me that I would have to pay extra for breakfast. I informed them that the breakfast was included in the room rate, and I provided them the Agoda documentation guarantee of my booking. Then they went to this front desk manager Yehia who told me that the included breakfast was not in their system at which point I insisted that they honor my reservation, and that they can take it up with Agoda.
It seems that they wanted to charge me more money at every turn since the rate that I had booked 9 months earlier was less than what they were charging currently. (note to general manager, please honor your agreements with these hotel websites).
The second and most frustration thing about this hotel is a complete lack of the breakfast restaurant customer service. Once I ordered an omelet , and the person making it had given it to a random customer, another time I asked for a glass of orange juice from a waitress who was just standing at the entrance, and she never brought it over, I spoke to a supervisor about this issue, and as I was leaving breakfast this waitress give me such a dirty look like how dare I complain about her lack of service. The wait staff used to hang out in groups chatting away instead of assisting guests with their needs. I contacted customer relations regarding these situations at breakfast, but she did not seem to care about customer satisfaction, nor did she apologize for this lousy service.
The only good service that I received at this hotel was from Mohamed in 5th floor Housekeeping who was very diligent in doing his job and always had a smile on his face. He did a good job in cleaning my room everyday, and replenished all the bottled water, coffee, tea and towels that I used.
( General manager, why can’t you instill these values of good customer service that Mohamed has in all your employees, after all, this is a service oriented business).
The lobby and reception are very comfortable. The pool is clean and so are the towels. Breakfast is served in a small restaurant, the tables are clean, the dishes and cutlery are comfortable, there was enough space and food in the restaurant for everyone. The breakfast staff is friendly and fast.
Our room was on the 7th floor with a wonderful view of Zamalek, the opera house and the Egyptian tower. The room is of sufficient size and clean. The bed is comfortable. Wifi is great. Everything in the room was technically in good working order.
All the staff at the hotel are very friendly, everyone performs their duties efficiently. Cleaning at a time convenient for us. There is always staff on duty in the pool area. The reception will answer all questions.
The restaurant on the roof of the hotel serves fresh food, large portions.
We thank the hotel for our vacation.
The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choice of both hot and cold food. Omelettes etc. were also made to order. The rooftop restaurant was a nice place to chill with great views over Cairo.
The swimming pool was on the small side, very clean and a relaxing place to chill as a family.
Used Ubers for getting around and walked to many places too. Plenty of Restaurants in the area and small supermarkets for drinks, snacks etc.
All in all, a very welcoming, well equipped, spotless hotel with great staff.

I had made a booking for a stay from 12th to 20th December 2024, and cancelled it within the hotel's 24-hour free cancellation policy. Despite adhering to the policy as confirmed by the CWT reservation team, my credit card was charged the full amount—even before the 24-hour cancellation period had elapsed.
It has been over two weeks since the charge, and despite multiple follow-ups, I have neither received a refund nor confirmation of the charge being cancelled. The lack of resolution has been both frustrating and disappointing, especially given the reputable standing of Accor Hotels.
The hotel itself is very modern and up to date.
However a brand such as Novotel should up hold its reputation by ensuring they make cleanliness a priority. The carpets in the room were dirty and stained, the bathroom floors and walls were stained with marks and the corners of the bathroom had mold.
Also for the Novotel brand, the breakfast was below average. Not a good variety at all.
Overall great location and convenient. However for the high price you pay for the Novotel brand, I would expect more
