Went to Seoul in July and decide to book this hotel because of its location and price. Took the limo bus from Incheon, paid about 18000 won and took about one hour to reach. Family Room is big, bed is comfortable The hotel is in the shopping zone and there are a lot of shop and restaurant. Pro: very convenient,...

My friend and I booked this hotel because we thought it would provide us with the facilities it claims but I was wrong! We were using FANS to cool ourselves down because they wouldn't turn on the central air conditioning system to allow us to regulate our room temperatures, the bathrooms are old fashioned which they SHOULD put pictures on...

Savoy hotel is located in the heart of myeongdong shopping area. Location wise, it is good. The problem we encountered were the sockets. Ours were not working even though we went and borrowed an adapter in the hotel. ( the one in my sister's room were working though). We asked help from the front desk and it worked only for...

Booked a junior twin room and was really surprised that it was very spacious with a little corner where you can put your luggage. Bed is just nice for me as not too soft and not too hard. Bathroom came with a Japanese type bidet toilet seat. Towels are changed daily. Reception was helpful in booking our trip to Everland....

This best about this hotel is the location, location and location. It's in the heart of myeongdong, just 3 minutes walk to subway station, surrounded by good shopping and restaurants and very near to Lotte mall. It's also on top of G25 convenient shop so it's easy to buy groceries. I stayed here for 5D4N and never get bored. However,...

Everything was great during our stay in the hotel. The location, breakfast, service and convenience were all great. I only had an issue with the airconditioning of the place. It was broken the whole time. We were not able to control the room temperature in our room. We reported this to the hotel personnel and they checked this but nothing...

This location is great, smack bang on the middle of the action. As I regard a hotel a place to sleep & get cleaned up, this was perfect. Got a coffee/ waffle joint on the first floor if you need anything. 24 hour room service is a convenience store on the ground floor. Room was cleaned well every day, staff...

Excellent location to all the shops ~ close to the train station, countless of places to shop, and lots restaurants. However, the hotel security is very poor. The front desk people are rarely seen and people go in and out easily. The room is dirty. The wall has what looks like a food stain and has a hole next to...

Stayed for 4 nights. It is near to the mrt and smack in Myeongdong. After purchasing from the skincare shops, we come back to our rooms to rest our feet and put our purchases. Close to the limousine stop and Isaac (for toast). I have stayed in Nine Tree, as a comparison I woud prefer Savoy due to location and...

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
