Hotel is right in the midst of Myeongdong shopping streets. I bought sandwiches for my breakfast from the convenience store downstairs in the morning or buns from nearby bakeries the night before. There is a minimart just 50m away. To get to hotel, just turn left at exit 6 of Myeongdong station. At Nature Republic, turn left again. Hotel is...

I wasn't planning on staying in Savoy as I had just checked out Loisir Hotel a few hours earlier where I had stayed for one night; however, after running my errands I suddenly felt sick with a migraine and was looking for a hotel day use (up to 4 hours) as I had a night train booked to another city....

Rooms are good and location is very good as well. 2nd time staying. Can choose this hotel if you are going Seoul. Easily access to Subway station and restaurants and shopping areas. Nearest subway exit is Myeongdong exit 6 and easy to grab taxis along the main road... Airport transfer is also nearby which is about 10 mins walk (depending...

I have stayed here couple of times before as location is right in midst of Myeondong street. If taking train, exit 6 Myeongdung Station, turn left and turn left, 70 meters away. Room is clean and most staff were helpful and smiley. Only problems were that : 1) they gave a very tiny room for Queen sized bed with no...

Good 3 star hotel situated at the center of MyeongDong. The location is superb as the Subway station is less than 5 min walk. Hotel amenities are sufficient and basic. However, the hotel price rate is a little bit at high side.

We booked the hotel for the location in the middle of Myeongdong on the recommendation of a local friend who stayed there in the past. The location is fantastic; the hotel itself, a basic stay, within the expectation given the cost. The room was decent size, wi-fi was included, breakfast and a crib cost extra. There are better options for...

Stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days. We booked through agoda so i think we got it at a discounted rate. We chose the standard twin bedroom and did not have any issues with checking in or out. To be honest we chose this hotel as it was the only one we could find that had a sure smoking...

In the summer holiday, I went to Seoul for a trip. As we all know, Korea is a nice country for people to travel. There are various sorts of local culture to know. Savoy Hotel is the recommendation that I stayed in Seoul. It is located in Myeongdong---the most popular street for tourists to shop for in Seoul, so that...

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
