We stayed here for 4 nights. Here's our reviews: PROS: - Very good location. At the heart of Myeongdong. Shopping district for clothes, shoes, street food and makeup makeup makeup! - Very good customer service. They overlooked my emails that we are a party of 3 and they booked us a room for 2. We had to pay an extra...

We only had 24 hours for a stopover in Seoul and chose Metro hotel for the comments on Tripadvisor. We found it very easy to get to the hotel from the airport and were greated with some handwarmers and a map of the neighborhood. Our luggage was taken care of and after 5 minutes we were on our way to...

We decided to stay at Metro Hotel after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and we were so glad that we took the advice of those before us. The hotel was great. Knowing it was a smaller hotel we didn't expect much in the way of facilities but they definitely made up for this by the exceptional service that they provided....

Location in Myeong Dong is as good as any of the five star hotels such as Westin and Lotte. There are many restaurants (some open till very late), cafes and convenience stores nearby, so it is perfectly fine that the hotel does not have room service. Staff are really helpful, friendly and speak good English. Very near to Ibis Hotel...

Seoul is a frenetic place, especially Myeong-dong, the neighborhood in which Metro Hotel is located. But the hotel was comfortable, accomodating, and stress-free, in addition to being located right in the middle of everything. The receptionists' English was great, the doorman very helpful. The computers in the lobby are great and have a working printer. The room we stayed in...

Based on the rave reviews here in Trip Advisor, the simple but chic website and its regular and informative updates in their Facebook page, we really wanted rooms here for our 4 nights in Seoul with kids in tow. So glad we managed to get two deluxe rooms for our two families, each of which have two kids. The deluxe...

I booked a standard double room directly with the hotel. The price is attractive as compared to other hotels in the same area. The hotel is located right in the heart of Myeong Dong. Just 2 minutes walk to the subway station and the airport shuttle bus stop. But the drawback is the noise from the streets. The service is...

We know this hotel through our tour agent in Korea. We totally agree with most of the reviews that this is indeed the best choice that we have made. It is really convenient to get food and most important-shopping from the hotel's door-step.Travelling via subway is not a problem too, Another compliment is all the hotel staff can speak English...

I believe I wont be the last I believe I won’t be the last to say what a great value for money hotel Metro hotel is. The MRT station is a few minutes away walk from Euljiro 1 (Green Line) and also 15 minutes from Myeong-Dong (Blue Line) Such proximity makes travelling in Seoul a breeze. I am not sure...

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
