My family stayed from 29 June to 6 July 3013 in a Deluxe Room. Once again, Miss Sue helped us with the reservation as ours was a last minute booking; showing great initiative, sincerity and flexibility to accommodate our requests. On checking- in we noted that there was a notice offering Singaporean guests free N 95 mask when checking-out (Singapore...

We stayed at the Metro for 9 nights in total during our recent trip to South Korea. The hotel is located in the heart of Myeongdong and is surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants, many of which are open until 11pm. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the subway station and is easily accessible from the...

The location is really excellent being close to shopping areas like myeongdong and various lotte departmental stores. The nearby subway station links directly to lines that bring you to places like insadong and gyeongbogung. The staff are friendly and...

We spent seven nights at the Metro Hotel in August 2013. The hotel is in a very good location for shopping in Seoul, but its proximity to the metro, bus stops, etc., also make it easy to get to all of Seoul's sites and neighborhoods. All of this aside, the real draw of the Metro is its staff. They are...

From online booking to our stay at the Metro Hotel, the staff was truly excellent. Everyone is professional and helpful. Our room was a bit small (standard double) as was the bathroom. But it served our needs, and the bathroom functioned well. Housekeeping was efficient and throrough, and the airconditioning worked well in the hot humid summer. Our room faced...

I stayed at the Metro for two nights in order to do some sightseeing around Seoul. I reserved one of the "business" rooms which I found to be an ideal size for a solo traveler that does...

Metro Hotel is a really nice hotel with excellent location. It is located just behind the Airport Limo Bus stop ( which is outside Ibis Hotel) and very easy to find. It is within Myeongdong which is "the" area for shopping & food. It is also walking distance to 2 train lines via Myeongdong Station and Euljiro 3-ga train stations....

Situated perfectly in down town Seoul, a few minutes walk from the subway. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet up on the 5th floor (what happened to the 4th???), great to have aircon (summer) that actually was cooled and we had all the amenities we wanted. Security is high (key pass to access all areas) and we had excellent...

First time in Seoul. Chosen the hotel because of the great reviews on here. Didn't disappoint. Not luxury nor flashy, but you get everything you need. Clean and compact room. Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
