Great place, Great price, and Great staff! Especially, the staff can speak English、Korean and Chinese. Thanks the Air hotel, it lets me have a really great time when I come back once again in Seoul! ( P.S. This time with new decoration!) Everything is gorgeous! I'll come back if I visit Seoul again.

The room looks like a transient room. This is suitable for those who are on a budget. Has 2 aircon units – a split-type and an ordinary one. Bathroom has 2 dipenser: one for shampoo and another one for shower gel. The 5th floor is the pantry area. They have a kitchen where you can cook, utemsils and ref. You...

It's easy to find and convenient for traffics to everywhere in seoul. And the price of room is fair. Above all , the host of this guest house is very nice and help us hospitably. We really enjoy the trip with here. Next time we also like to choose this place!

Reasons to stay in this hostel were easy to get to the airport (need to take early morning bus sometime before six) and inexpensive (only spending one evening in Seoul). Their friendly staff was a bonus to the stay. Accommodation was very basic. The dorm I stayed has three bunk beds with ensuite bathroom. There was one extension with four...

I stayed for 8 nights in this guesthouse with my friends during our trip to Seoul. It was a very nice place to stay as it was cozy and feeling home-like. All the utilities are provided and are easily accessible! They also have party or karaoke sessions every weekend but it doesn't bother you as they had it at the...

The room was okay, and the bathrooms were clean even if the water leaks across the whole room when you have a shower. The rooftop area is nice, but there is no atmosphere there at all. The staff were friendly, but unable to answer some questions such as where to go out at night and where to exchange money. It's...

The room in the hostel wasn't really good. We had a private room, with private shower. The room was really small, with just one bunkbed in it. It also wasn't the most clean room (but also not too bad). The rest of the hostel is really good. The location is great, a 3 min walk to the jongno5 metro, which...

Everything was great for our stay in this hostel, including location and warm welcome by the host, Thomas & Selina. This hostel is about 5 min walking to the nearest subway station, bus stand and airport limo. 30 min walk to Gyeongbukgung Palaca, 10 mins walk to Gwanjang Market, about 15 mins walk to Dongdaemun Shooping area (Doota Mall, APM,...

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighbourhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighbourhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighbourhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the centre of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
