Food and drink grossly overpriced. Far above usual inflated hotel standards. Think $37 cocktails and $17 coffee, even the tiny alcohol bottles from the minibar are priced at 20000 KRW ($18)! Food is similarly pricey. Rooms are outdated, small and drab; mediocre at best. Lobby, staff, and views are quite nice. This hotel seems to be focusing more on being...

I stayed at Grand Hyatt Seoul twice in 12 months. Actually latest was actually last. I have about 135 days of travel days a year, Im a Hyatt Diamond and SPG gold, so I do have equal hotels to compare to this one. The rooms are outdated for being a Grand Hyatt, desperate need of a upgrade. The offering in...

Traveled here on business. No issues to report. Rooms and the rest of the hotel are clean and the food is excellent (both choice and quality). A little far from city center but great location nonetheless. A bit on the expensive side but service is great and most employees speak English.

Very popular with western business users. Rooms have lots of glass so views normally great depending on season. Breakfast time in the restaurant can be very busy at certain times with suits rushing for corporate coaches. After 8.30 it normally gets more civilised. The food selection is very fresh though if served in a small area for such a large...

I stayed here for 3 days. The experience at the hotel is good. Although it's a bit far from city centre, as it's higher up on the Namsan, but the room view is great looking at the N Tower and it's quiet. Room service food is great, similar quality as dining at a restaurant. I was quite shock though to...

The room is pretty small. Even after renovation, the room is just hyatt regency standard. However, the gym and the swimming pool are good. They have many restaurants in the hotel but I don have a chance to try. Another inborn defect of the hotel is its location. It is pretty far away from city centre.

Staying in Itaewon

Neighbourhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
