I understand that a hostel usually doesn't have an elevator but everyday I have to take the stairs to the 5th floor. I was surprised when I arrived in the hotel and the reception is on the 3rd floor and the stairs are so shabby. There's only one staff in the reception. The staff and the manager are very friendly...

Found this Hotel through Booking.com and since it was highly rated and less than $20, I decided to book. I wasn't disappointed. Bus direct from Incheon practically to the doorstep of the Hotel. Easy to find, just in the alley to the left of the 7 11. Owner is extremely friendly and helpful. I was lucky that I was a...

I needed a cheap room with private bath+toilet for a night. That is how I found this hostel on the internet. The hostel is good. It is really very centrally located. The Dongdaemun market/shopping centres are just 5 min walk away.(maybe even less). The room is small but it had everything I needed for a night. Except it did not...

This hostel is suitable for backpacker who want to sleep alone. Near subway station "Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Exit. 4" The room is small but perfect for me because there is toilet inside and free wifi. If I go to Korea, I will stay at here again for sure.

The reception guy was nice.. As I reached the hostel at after midnight, he's still there waiting for me to check in.. And he helped me carry my luggage up to 5th floor. However at other times during morning and afternoon I do not see any person at the reception. If you need help from them, you'll need to call...

I've stayed here during my trip to Seoul from June to July. It's a very comfortable place to be in. The innkeeper, John, was very friendly and he gave us a lot of valuable information, such as the culture in Korea and recommended us places to visit as well as local restaurants to try out at. The rooms are a...

Easily accessible via Airport Express Bus which stops in front of Toyoko Inn. Once you alight from the bus stop, look or walk to the left and you will see 7 Eleven. Walk into the small lane at 7 Eleven and Dongdaemun Inn is there. Dongdaemun Inn is also 3 minutes away from Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Subway station...

The best thing about Dongdaemun Inn is the location as it is just steps away from the Dongdaemun History and Cultural Park subway (exit 4). Around the corner is the beautiful design centre which is really amazing to look at in daytime, and especially lit up at night. And there are two fantastic shopping malls, atms, food courts etc. across...

Staying in Dongdaemun / Sindangdong

Neighbourhood Profile
Dongdaemun / Sindangdong
For shopping enthusiasts, Dongdaemun is a must visit. Enormous shopping centres – stacked with multiple levels of boutique and independent shops – offer the latest in Korean fashion, cosmetics, accessories, and other goods while prices are relatively low. The night shopping (between late night and early morning) is particularly well known here, making Dongdaemun a place where you can literally shop until you drop. If fashion isn't what you’re looking for, the long-running wholesale markets nearby sell everything from cloth to utensils at lower prices. The rows of food stalls that set up at night ensure shoppers get refueled, and foodies will enjoy checking out nearby Sindang-dong’s Tteokbokki Town as well as some non-Korean offerings from the Central Asian Village near Dongdaemun.
