-The room and the bathroom are EXTREMELY tiny, the heater didn't work well, it was freezing (it was winter). -There was no place to put suitcases, so you just put it in front of the door (which is also the space between bed and the bathroom) -The sink was leaking, and the staff didn't speak English. +The location is great....

the location is ok. it is very near myeongdong - which is the best place to shop and eat. the hotel does not look like a usual hotel because the reception is located at the 10th floor. while our room is at 8th floor. outside the hotel, street vendors are everywhere.the room is too small. the toilet is also small....

The location was excellent and I enjoyed the breakfast however, the room was too small for a couple, it's old and dirty, the bed sheets weren't changed during my 5 days visit and the floors are never cleaned.

My first time here in Seoul and I really enjoy staying at the hotel. The hotel located next to the Shinsegae department store and the blue line subway Hoehyeon, only one station away from Myeongdong station (which actually in a walking distance from the hotel). Very recommend this hotel for both friends trip and solo trips. The room is not...

Location is the main reason I picked this joint. For some reasons, i was assigned to the room on a floor that's for another hotel (named Myeondong Hotel). Anyway, the room was small but functional. Good enough for a night of sleep. A convenience store was just around the corner. a 10 minutes walk to the Myeondong shopping area. No...

Great location, close to markets and malls, a spot to pick up eg international sim card nearby, quiet rooms. Once you get past the shock how small the room is :), it is actually quite nice and truly cozy. And yes you basically shower on the bathroom floor, but that's usual in Korea. The front desk is on the 10th...

Stayed there for 5 nights in November 2012. Location was good, near Hoehyeon stn, airport limousine(6015). Namdaemum market just a stone's throw away! Walking distance to Myeong-dong shopping streets and N Seoul Tower. Easy to explore the Seoul city as tourist. Front desk service was helpful and friendly, they allowed us to check-in early around 8am. Breakfast was good but...

There were both positive and negative sides to our stay here. The positive: was central to markets and heart of shopping district - the hype of Seoul was at the front door. We had a room for four adults which few hotels offer. Price was reasonable for Seoul. Negative: staff not overly friendly, rooms had not been earned that well...

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
