We needed a cheap place to stay one night in Seoul. Insadong is my very favourite neighbourhood in town, and so we looked around there. This is one of the cheapest in the area, and it really feels Korean. It's clean, but not new. It is an older building and clearly has been in business for a while. The bed...

This hotel has everything a budget traveller needs. It's quiet, is located centrally, is very clean and the staff are friendly. We planned to stay for 3 nights but added on two more as we loved the area and wanted to explore more. The rooms are a little on the small side, but this is budget hotel and if you...

We stayed 7 nights, 3 on the front end of our South Korea trip and 4 on the backend so got to experience 2 different rooms. Both were basically the same, only difference of note was that one had a computer and the other didn't. The Good: - Price. Affordable, esp when staying for 7 nights - Location. If you...

Was what we were looking for, a simple room at a cheap price. Included fresh towels and water bottles in the fridge which were a nice touch, not expected for a place at this price in Seoul. Only negative would've been mosquitos but other than that, zero qualms about this room

The place is close to the Insadong street. It's also walking distance from Gyeongbukgong Palace and the Bukchon Hanok Village. The hotel seems old but it's clean and provide complete toiletries and other needs. The staff was also kind and accommodating and good in speaking English. One time we were off the door of the hotel when it started raining,...

We stayed at this hotel.for 3 nights. The rooms are small-as all Korean rooms are- clean, nice staff, and the location is great! Right at insadong main street - close to shopping areas, historical monuments and more! Great place to stay just remember very small rooms

Great location, it's a 10 seconds walking from Insadong street. Friendly staff who speaks enough English A small but very convenient room, with good size towels, a fridge, AC. We walked in without reservation and got the last room, while in the area other (more expensive) hotels were full. This is definitely good value for money in a rather expensive...

This hotel is right in the heart of insadong just a street away from the main row of shops. It's about a 7 minute walk to the nearest tube station, and around 15 min walk to the Cheonggyecheon stream. I preferred this location to our other place in iteawon as less English is spoken and it has a more traditional...

Staying in Insadong

Neighbourhood Profile
Insadong
Nestled between Jongno and Samcheongdong, this small neighborhood offers a crash course in various aspects of Korean culture. Rows of shops display traditional Korean goods such as pottery and earthenware, crafts, fans, and more, making it a popular spot for souvenir shopping. The Ssamziegil shopping complex in particular has become a local institution for its unique spiral layout and the many boutique shops inside that sell handmade crafts and goods. This is the perfect neighborhood to sample a range of Korean dishes, with vegetarian Korean temple cuisine restaurants being a popular draw, but street food carts are just as famous. As a top tourist destination, crowds can swell, particularly on weekends, but you can find some rest and respite in one of the private art galleries or grab a cup of Korean tea in a tea house – many of which are located in beautifully renovated traditional Korean homes.

“I'm not sure if all rooms are equipped with a computer, so it might be worth confirming beforehand as it really comes in handy. There is wifi there, but it's very weak/slow to the point that it's basically useless (at least in my room on the 2nd floor), but the hotel room computer's internet was fast. Also before you unpack all of your things, check that the other stuff is working. If it isn't, they'll let you change rooms.”
