Loved the location being that is about half way between the Airport and Yangon central. Stayed here 3 times over our recent trip to Myanmar. We used this hotel as our base as we returned each weekend after touring various locations in Myanmar. The staff happily kept some of our luggage onsite while we were travelling and were always attentive to whatever requests we had, from calling taxis to printing out flight tickets. The breakfast is good and the rooms are spacious and clean. Would absolutely stay here again.

Good location. A few minutes travelling to Inya Lake and around 20-30 minutes to airport too. There staffs are friendly. The price is reasonable for the room with breakfast. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast is good.

The prices are reasonable compared to other hotels nearby. You will find the local restaurants around and can easily take a taxi. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Even for local, i feel like prices are worth it.

We stayed in this hotel for a week. It's not in a most central location but next to hotel are many small local shops where you can get your drinks, food etc Burmese folks are polite and generally non confrontational. It'll serve you well to treat them and their culture with respect.

Pros :
English speaking staff and friendly
Elevator (This is not necessary included in some of the hotels in Yangon. Imagine climbing 4th storey in some of the older hotels!)
Free wifi (not high speed like what we are used to)
Clean
New
No issue with hot water or electricity
Small fridge
Flat screen TV, all the things you'll find in a hotel
Simple breakfast
Comfortable beds
Well designed room

Cons :
Not so near many tourist sites.
A little expensive at 80USD a night but I heard there's a shortage of hotels right now. At that price you can get a very good hotel in Bangkok!
Wifi can be frustrating if there are too many people on it

This is a good serving, but no-gimmicks hotel in Yankin Township, some 15 minutes taxi drive from the Centre. Staff is very friendly and good in English. Rooms are basically clean. Hotels are high priced in Yangon, this is no exception. Breakfast I found ok, but nothing to remember. Power cuts in evening times are normal in Yangon, in this hotel they'll start genny in less than a minute though. Wifi is free, but like anywhere in Yangon, unstable and slow.
Airport is only 10 minutes taxi ride from here, so if like staying one night only or having early flight, this is a good choice.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights.

Location: It's in Yankin (North side of Yangon). There is a Yangon Circular train stop near by 'Kanbe' station. The walk to this station was the best part of my Yangon trip! We got to see our neighborhood. It felt like we were in a movie... it was an amazing experience. The train ride was so much fun too... Not sure long it will stay this way but highly recommended!

Hotel room: Spacious, clean, no problem at all. No issue with hot water. Wifi in the room. Small fridge, flat screen TV, hair dryer, kettle...

Restaurant - Small area where they serve breakfast. Simple breakfast but not bad.

Customer service: Staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. They let us check out at 3pm instead of usual noon with no extra charge too.. Most spoke good English.

Highly recommended hotel! :-)

Cleanliness is what most mid range hotels in ygn lack. However, this hotel is Clean. Laundry service was inconsistent though. Most days they return them on the same day and some days they would return the next day or after 2 days. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I also bought some food from the supermarket to the hotel and had asked the kitchen to cook them for me, they were very kind to fulfil this request. The hotel manager was very attentive as well. All staff were attentive.

This is what you might call a "middle of the road" sort of place. However it is pretty immaculate and the service is awesome. I arrived during Myanmar New Year and found that pretty much all restaurants were closed. However, one of the bellboys arranged to fetch me some chicken fried rice from a local eatery somewhere and had it brought up to my room with a plate and cutlery so I didn't go to bed hungry. Above and beyond. The in-house restaurant also did a mean sweet and sour king prawn. Would definitely stay again.

This is the only hotel that I have stayed in Myanmar, so I have no others to compare with. I did have a quick lunch at the nearby Sedona Hotel, it was nice, but they wanted US$200 per night. For business travel, Hotel Yankin is acceptable at around US$75 per night. I was told that this hotel was built a couple of years ago.

Staff: very nice and helpful. Those behind the counter speak good English.

The room is vary basic, but clean. They do give you shaving kit, shower caps, q-tips, and toothbrush. The hair-dryer is a travel size, so if this is important to you, bring your own, but make sure that it is rated for 220V with two round or flat prongs.
You need the key to open and lock the door (for my room). It is difficult to insert the key card to lock the door in the dark, because the card that activate the room's power is in the key ring as the key, so separate them, if you like.
The AC is ice-cold and very quiet (Panasonic), but after you inserted the key card to activate the room's power, it does take a few minutes for the box next to the AC to go to "Operate" mode, then you can use the remote to turn it on/off.
The bed is firm, which I like and even with the jetlag, I was able to get a good 4 hours sleep.
The wifi internet (if you read the other reviews) has strong signal, but is very very slow during 8AM ~ midnight. After midnight, it'd come alive. My speed test showed that it could get about 1.5Mbps download at around 2AM.
The shower is interesting. There is a main shower head (just like the one you'd get in most of the hotels with cold water only. The other handheld shower head has an electrical heater on it. Even with the middle "power" dial set to max, you could get just "warm" water from that. By the way, the knob below that heater with off, number 1~5 and max controls the water flow for the heated water.

The breakfast is very basic, but acceptable and good enough to get your day going.

The hotel around here is expensive now a day, but I am ok with what I got at the Hotel Yankin and I would not mind staying here again.
