I have never actually stayed here, and knowing what I do about White River and Rain Tree I never would, but I have eaten a few times at the Cafe. Breakfast is big on local food, which is tasty and inexpensive (for Honiara). The pizzas are also pretty good, and again, there is a focus on local produce. Be warned...

What a fantastic little gem, hidden near the back of Honiara! We arrived here for a week long break to explore Guadalcanal - and what a great little base it proved to be. We hired a car from a nearby hotel and kept the car in the secure compound of Raintree. The room itself was perfect for our needs, very...

We had booked 2 nights in Raintree B&B, based on the recommendation in Lonely Planet (this was their 'Our Pick' in the 2010 edition). Honiara is not a very nice city, and it doesn't feel safe, and on top of that Rain Tree B&B is in a not-so-good area of Honiara, forget walking anywhere near the hotel at night (or...

The Raintree Cafe is a dump, and this finding should be regarded as separate from the observation that Honiara is a hole and that the Raintree Cafe is in a not so great part of town. We landed here, despite adequate warning on TripAdvisor, because our reservation at Sanalae Apartments was not honored and some kind of convention was in...

I stayed at the Rain Tree B & B from 28th September until 6th October. It was a great experience, despite the well known issues at the White River market during the night. Although I wasn’t afraid for my personal security, I understand others may be frightened. And I can’t believe that a police station is only a few hundred...

Very nice cafe with great food, smoothies and fresh juices with a lovely view right over the sea. Popular among the white people in Honiara, however there are a few things you should be aware of if you stay there as a visiting tourist. The white people that eat there all come by car, the cafe is in the suburb...

The Rain Tree Bed and Breakfast is a lovely place to stay. A real hidden gem, right next to the sea and a wonderful place to eat fresh locally grown organic food while gazing out on the nearby islands. The rooms are really well appointed and comfortable and WiFi is available. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfasts...
