Greenheart Boutique Hotel is the only one of its kind unique, charming 4-star eco hotel located in the historic center of Paramaribo, where the guest feels at home! The hotel has been made of Surinamese hardwood, which creates an authentic Surinamese ambiance. You can see the beautiful, dark wood everywhere from the reception to the rooms and even at the pool. Despite its historic appearance, this Boutique hotel offers 14 unique hotel rooms with air-conditioning, a bathroom en suite, wardrobe, safe and standard amenities. Enjoy our saltwater swimming pool, a little library with its own character and so much more! At the Greenheart Boutique hotel, we like to associate our hospitality and professional service minded staff to an attractive ambiance, flexibility, sociability, relaxation, and tranquility amidst heart of the city. Welcome in a world that seemed to have disappeared!
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
I am obsessed with Greenheart. I literally cannot even list all the ways they go ABOVE AND BEYOND. Here are a few examples: 1. the bank ATM ate my card so the Co-Owner Manoj went to the bank and spent SEVERAL hours trying to get it back for me--he leveraged his personal connections 2. The coconut ice cream bar served to you on a platter when you arrive 3. Calling cabs for us at all hours just by WhatApping the hotel and them coordinating 4. Greeting us, fully dressed in uniform, at 3am for check out (crazy!) 5. Making me a snack when the kitchen was closed and we couldn't get food delivered as we didn't have cash 6. The kitchen staff gently knocking on our door at 10:15 when we missed breakfast (ended at 10) checking if we wanted it still before they put it away (which we did!) 7. Letting us add more nights at the same (cheaper) price we had booked through a third-party 8. Driving us around town 9. Organizing taxi airport pick-up/drop-offs and letting us bill it to our room. The list goes on and on. Also, the beds are sooooo comfy. We miss them!
The staff are incredible and so so kind. A-Team for sure. I recommend this place to everyone going to Suriname. We even stayed there a second time even when it was an hour from where we were going haha. We love them.
The pool is really nice too. Super tranquil out back. I posted a video and my friends were commenting on how posh it looked.
Greenheart is a special place. Highly recommend. Thank you for everything!!!!! We think of Paramaribo fondly because of you!!!!!

Front desk went above and beyond. This was the first in 45 countries where there was no ATM or change machine in the airport on arrival. And our first day there was a national holiday so the banks and places to change money were closed. Hotels take credit cards in Suriname but almost no restaurants do. The front desk found us a Chinese restaurant that took US dollars so we were able to eat dinner until we could change money. Each room had different birds and wildlife painted inside. Furniture was unique. Bed was comfortable. Ensuite bathroom with shower. Breakfast was included and there were fresh fruits and juices in addition to eggs and cereal options. We were there a week but a few of the nights our excursion took us far enough out of town that we didn't stay at the hotel. We knew they would hold our bags for us while we did the excursions. But it ended up they were able to let us even leave it in our locked hotel room. Very convenient. They don't change money at the front desk, there's no ATM within a few blocks and other than the breakfast area, there's no restaurant in the hotel. There a few places to get coffee a little further down the block. Restaurants such as Naskip for chicken and Padre Nostro for pizza and gelato within walking distance. On our wedding anniversary our breakfast server learned that fact and went in to the kitchen for two pieces of banana cake and played on the speakers a romantic song. Air conditioning in the guest room but not any other areas of the hotel.

A magnificent hotel, with adorable and attentive staff without being too invasive. The hotel is peaceful on a quiet street. The swimming pool is very pleasant and has a nice jacuzzi section. Breakfast was a delight for the whole family, especially when we had the pleasure of having it with Mr. Woddy, the hotel's turtle mascot 😍. Due to its geographical location, the hotel is close to the most touristy part of Paramaribo (basilica, Waterkant, central market). Walking on foot was ideal for us. In short, a very good quality, friendly, family hotel. The only small downside would be the lighting in the bathroom, a little dim for my taste.

I recommend this place as a quiet escape from a busy life. I visited at the end of December 2022 into January 2023 and had 2 firsts here. My first trip to Suriname and 1st ever solo trip. Greenheart is small with welcoming staff who were always willing to help. This was very comforting as they would take their time to explain what things there were to see or do. E.g: I planned my trip a bit spontaneously and did not thoroughly reserach what I wanted to do in Suriname.
However, after talking to the owners and staff, I was able to experience Suriname cuisine, historical sites/museums and they convinced me to do a kayak tour (outside of my comfort zone) through a jungle, organised it for me and loaned me their backpacks, bug spray.
I believe that this is one of the pros of booking at a smaller location because I got to know the staff, guests and owners quite well and they were able to proactively assist with issues as they arose.
It was in the middle of my stay that I also realised that Manoj (one the owners who usually worked the night shift) would wait in the lobby for me and other guests to ensure everyone got in okay and did not need any help. He was also a whatsapp away if I needed him and I appreciated this as I was in Suriname on my own most times though I knew some people there.

I spent 3 nights at the picturesque Greenheart Boutique Hotel with my husband and 10 year old grandson. The room was small but comfortable. There is a delightful salt water pool where my grandson enjoyed swimming every day. A good breakfast was available daily with a selection of different breads, cheeses, cold cuts, cereals, or egg cooked as you requested. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the owner was kind enough to take us in his car to our appointment when we asked for directions. There are several eateries within easy walking distance so we could dine somewhere different each evening. The tiny bathroom was a bit of a shock, but not a dealbreaker. I would definitely stay here again.

It is a very nice and cozy hotel. The service is outstanding and nowhere in Suriname have I experienced this service before. Compliments for the staff and management! The hotel is centrally located and not overcrowded. It is authentically decorated and has a nice swimming pool. The hotel rooms are also nicely decorated and there are places everywhere in the hotel where you can sit quietly.

I stayed one week in this beautiful hotel. The hotel is situated in the centre of Parimaribo on a very quiet place. The team is very dedicated, friendly and helpful. Everyday it was a pleasure to come home and have a little rest on one of the balconies. The atmosphere in the hotel is very quiet. The building is an unique example of woodcraft.

I spent a wonderful two weeks at the Greenheart Boutique Hotel. It is a small, charming hotel with a good breakfast and a lovely, clean pool. While there is no restaurant onsite, the hotel is close to many excellent restaurants with a wide range of cuisines. It is also within easy walking distance of the major sites of the historic center. But I think the best thing about Greenheart was the wonderful staff who made me feel like the hotel was a true home away from home.

Hotel in style, beautiful and well maintained. Staff of a kindness, friendliness and helpfulness encountered rarely... The welcome with "artisanal" coconut ice cream opened the stay, albeit short, in style. Abundant and varied breakfast, served in the garden in a relaxing atmosphere. I rate everything 10+.
