Descent hostel im Candelaria district. Beds were clean. It is easy though to miss that place since the sign is not visible enough.

Based on what we saw in the other hostels in the area, it is a cleaner and nicer one but a bit more expensive - we paid 80,000 pesos ($40) for two of us in a room with private bathroom while most others cost about 55,000 pesos ($27.50) for doubles with a private bathroom. The room was very nice and...

OK, it's cheap, but seriously this is not in a good area. In fact it's that bad that a lot of taxis refused to take us there at night, and once you're back there, you're stuck. Bogota is generally a fairly safe place but not around la Candelaria. As for the hostal, their command of English is fairly non-existent, so...

We stayed at the Hostal de la Candelaria for 4 nights in August 2009. Overall, the place is a good value for the money, but there are some things that are less than stellar. Firstly, the hostel is very clean and pretty, the private rooms are spacious and have cable tv. On our first three nights we stayed in a...

This is a really nice hostel in a great location. The staff are really friendly and the hostal is clean and everything is new. There's some really nice courtyards aswell to hangout in and the use of a kitchen. They now have private rooms aswell as the apartments which have private bathrooms and a tv so its good value. Its...

Hostal La Candelaria is one of the best hostels that I have ever stayed in. The owners are really nice. They went above and beyond to make my stay in Bogota great. The hostel is brand new and very clean. Each room is a two-story apartment that sleeps four people. The location is fantastic in the heart of the La...

“The mattresses in some rooms are better than others. For some rooms, you use a bathroom across a small courtyard. In my experience, that bathroom was private, that is, not shared.”
