From the moment I arrived, the staff were efficient, well-spoken and friendly. The reception area is filled with ideas and resources on what to do with your time here. The staff offer extra suggestions or help set up reservations for tours and more. Regarding what one reviewer said, you get what you look for. Hostals are 50% what you bring...

Great location in la Candelaria, safe and close to the main attractions in Bogota, though hard to find as the signage isn't very clear, walked past is more than once during our stay. provide a great breakfast for the price and free towels were a plus. Easy to make friends in the common area. The owner Sophie is lovely and...

I stayed at the Swiss Martinik for a couple of days. I would totally recommend this hostel to budget travelers who want to be close to the historic part of Bogota. You ca get to many museums by foot (Museo Botero, Gold Museum, Museo de Bogota, etc), so no need to pay a cab. It´s also nearby Monserrate (cost about...

Stayed in the private double. should have left but chose to stay because of jet lag and having paid in advance. reviews seem to be mainly written by dorm guests. So i can't judge the dorms, but at least the double is not great value. it's a dark cold humid prisonlike room with paperthin walls and no windows. The constant...

Hi there, sorry you didn't like the hostel, that happens. The house is very old and is part of Bogota's historical patrimony. We are aware that the walls are this but this is nothing we can change. We do enforce quiet hours because of this. The shower in your room is Colombian, hence less water is hotter, but it does...

This hostal has potential, but after staying three nights at the Swiss Hostal Martinik, I would say that it has seen its best days. The 10-dorm that I stayed in had a strange, humid smell to it. This smell seemed to come from the cover blankets over the sheets. Therefore, I tried not to place too much stuff on my...

Hi there, so sorry you didn't like our hostel. The house is part of the historic patrimony of Bogota and is about 300 years old. Therefore, changing the floor is simply not an option, I hope you can appreciate that. We open the windows of the dorms daily, but keep them closed at night to muffle the street noise. And...

Crash in Martinik with my friend for a few days and is definitely the best hostel in Barrio Candelaria and Bogota. Totally recommended for all tourist and people who want to share a good time. Thanks to the staff and specially to Anthony, Julian, Daniel and Karen. Hope to see you all very soon.

I stayed at Martinik for several days and I would definitely stay here again. Not only is it in a great part of town, but the place is extremely cozy and attracts some really special travelers. The staff is top notch and even though it is inexpensive, they also offer breakfast too. Recommended for budget travelers who want to feel...

Hey thanks for the review. And yes, the pizza is awesome. Claudio is Italian and knows pizza, it-s really a great cheap option when you don't feel like cooking. Glad you could drink the coffee, hahaha. Thanks again for taking the time to write us an awesome review. Hugs!!

NOT a party hostel. A sanctuary for a lone traveler. Situated so well for History and Culture, which fitted my situation really well. I'm an older guy who needs security and good sleep. And wifi connection to everywhere most of the time. Rooms and facilities are CLEAN (wow I admire those domestic girls). Atmosphere both private and of a friendly...

If you are visiting Bogota and are looking for a quiet place to relax, maybe writing, working or find inspiration this is a good place to stay. If you want to party, then choose another hostel. Thanks and you are right, we are not a party hostel nor do we want to be. We have a relaxed establishment where you can chill and meet people from all over. Thanks for the 4 stars, we really appreciate it.
