We had hoped to avoid Punta del Este at all costs, but found ourselves without accommodation and getting late into the evening. We happened across this hotel as we arrived, and all things considered think that we were pretty lucky. The hotel is at the quieter end of the main drag, and has an enviable location on the beach. All...

Quite an expensive hotel but we knew that when we booked. The general decor of the hotel is modern and quite different in a black and white stark sort of way. Our room faced the ocean, had good views and a comfy bed but the furnishings were a bit minimalist. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was up there...

Stayed at the Serena with my girlfriend in early January. We both very much liked the design and in particular the reception/pool/restraurant/beach areas of the hotel. Rooms are a bit more basic adn yes, the white carpet was not ideal. We found the staff friendly at all times, particularly in the restaurant. The food is among the best in Punta...

The first impression couldn't be better. The decoration and the architecture are beautiful. The spot amazing. What spoiled our stay was the staff. They were arrogant, never offered any help and I think that they believed that they were always doing us a favor. I think it's a managing problem, more about the owner of the hotel. The simple people who...

My wife and I stayed at the Serena in Nov, 2007. We had a lovelly stay. The room had a marvelous ocean view. It had lots of room, and the toilet was very confortable. The marvelous swimming pool is a great place to drink a clericó and spend time with your loved one.

A lovely location on the beach but I agree with the last reveiwer that the hotel lets itself down in some major areas. In particular the staff are too casual - we were never offered anything (such a drink by the pool or menus for lunch etc.) Odd that they don't seem to want to upsell things to their guests....

The Serena Hotel could be amazing but it stops incredibly short of reaching its potential and that’s a real shame. The beach location and outdoor areas are tops. The beach beds are a great amenity and we found the staff to be helpful and provide us with chairs and towels efficiently and with a smile. The pool is gorgeous, but...

We were very happy that we chose this hotel as we found out that it was the only one in Punta with direct access to the beach. Rooms very nice. We just did not understand why a twin room facing the street was more expensive that a double with a partial sea view. The beach and pool area are just...

After testing and trying several hotels in Punta del Este, we found the SERENA Hotel. Good location (away from the huzzle and buzzle but still close to everything allowing the perfect privacy and relaxation). The rooms are very nice, comfortable and with amazing views. The beach and pool area the the highlight of this hotel. An amazing black mirrow pool...

We stayed at Serena hotel in beginning Feb,2007 for 5 nights. We came during the week and the hotel was still pretty empty, which we loved (gets packed on weekends) . We recieved royal treatment on the beach and pool service and the included breakfast was delicious. You have to try a pitcher of White Sangria at the pool. The...
