I stayed in this hotel in June, beginning of winter. Occupancy was low, even the traffic lights on the main drag along the beach were turned off. This is a European style very nice hotel that even looks like a castle, with impressive turrets and expansive gardens; indoor and outdoor pools. Breakfast is quite good - in winter it is late; 8am - 11am. You won't see eggs on the buffest, you must only ask for made to order eggs and omelettes. I assume many staff can speak English; I spoke Spanish so I never tested it. Bar service is expensive, the the larget shopping mall in town is just round the corner - a 5 min walk. It has a food court with about 14 restaurants. I found the service to be very good and the room and appointments were top drawer. Highly recommend it!
The hotel is placed on nice spot of punta del este, but i consider it VERY expensive for service provided, im my oppinion it´s not adecuate for a 4 star, and segment pretended. Example: NO ligth on the bathroom and smell of tobacco on room 112. Poor attended breakfast, there is not nespresso or spresso coffee, lack of fresh fruit and you have to ask if you want scrambled eggs or omellette for breakfast (if you have to beg is not service), they have a Cook for breakfast, but they dont offer any food. Another topic, asked for an extra bed , and charged me 100usd without telling me price, or offering another room. Service level, is a 2 star, and price and target guest are 4 or 5 stars. We spend 2 nights almost all the time out of the hotel, but nobody offered us any kind of service. I will never come back to the hotel or restaurant due the lack of service, and oldfashioned not focused on costumer.…
As you drive up to the Parque Hotel Jean Clevers you may think you have approached a very high-end, luxury hotel. And you have - Uruguyan-style. The property and main areas are gorgeous, including a lovely pool. The hotel rooms are somewhat outdated and small, however. I had a room on the first floor and overlooked the gym / parking lot (room 4). The air conditioner took me a moment to figure out, but worked well once I got it going. The TV on the other hand, was a mystery to me as to how to turn it on. Oh well, who needs TV in Puntal! The hotel breakfast buffet was basic - until I realized that you could order eggs, etc. The coffee was nice and plentiful. I think the main attraction of this hotel is the friendly and helpful staff (and the pool!). They are kind and go out of their way to ensure you are enjoying your stay. The hotel is close to a grocery store - which is nice. They have a great selection of Uruguayan wines - don't miss the Tannant!…
Hotel was very pleasant, convenient location and friendly staff. When I checked out they advised my MasterCard had not been approved and therefore I was charged on my Visa card for my stay. My credit card statements show both cards were charged!!!!! Emails to the hotel to correct the error receive no response. Working with credit card companies. Evaluation would have been a 4 star if not for double charging.
We had a tea party there. The food was delicious, a good variety of pies, sandwiches, quiches, brownies, puddings and other really good things. The staff is excellent, always attentive to your needs and the place is really beautiful!!
