This is a nice, small, old hotel located in downtown Punta. It's close to both Playas Mansa and Brava and you can walk anywhere from it. Breakfast is fair, but it's usually packed with few tables for too many people. The room was a bit small and the window was jammed due to lack of use (it took us some...

We stayed at the Bonne Etoile for the past two nights and it was pretty great. The location is fantastic. We didn't have a pretty panoramic view, so I guess that was the only thing lacking, but it is in a great spot on the peninsula, only a couple minutes walk from either side. The hotel offers free wifi throughout...

I stayed here with my mom for Christmas and had a nice time. It's on the peninsula and has a great location. Right next to hotel are a lot of shops and restaurants and it's really close to the beach. We walked to the hotel from the bus station and it took max 10 minutes. No taxi needed! The hotel...

We stayed at Bonne Etoile just one night. Friendly staff, fast check in and limited parking. Breakfast is just reasonable, with a basket of bread and "media lunas", butter and jelly. Room was clean but air conditioner was noisy. Shower spread water all around but was nice and warm. If you do not want to spend too much it's OK.

Bonne etoile: Good option for a few days visit, not to spent your summerholiday. Location is very good; halfway down the first part of the peninsula, on walking distance to the busterminal and the beach and the yachtharbour. The room was fine but in a outdated decor, this goes for the whole building. There’s no airco, only a fan so...

The Bonne Etoile was an absolutely amazing place to stay during our weeklong vacation in Punta del Este. The staff was very friendly and the hotel retained a lot of old world charm (including leaving you room/car keys at the front when you weren't using them - so you never had to worry about them getting lost in the sand...

As part of out 6 country, 9 hotel South America trip, both Bonne Etoile and Punte Del Este had the distinction of being by far the worst hotel and worst place we visited - only Montevideo came close!! Yes, that's right, avoid Uruguay. Our best experience was with a stray dog on the beach. Really don't understand what all the...

If you are going to Punta searching for glamour, this is not the place to stay. It's a very simple hotel, with no luxury at all. The staff is very friendly and helpful and breakfast is good (not great), but the rooms are very old and plain. The location, on the other hand, is fantastic. Walking distance to the pier...

Room was a bit dated but very clean - large bathroom. The night clerk was the only one who spoke English, but all staff were friendly and helpful. Basic breakfast buffet. Excellent location right downtown - close to shopping, restaurants and beaches.

“We had room 317, which was supposed to be a 4-person apartment suite. What is ACTUALLY was, was the end of a hotel hallway which had been partitioned off to combine two hotel rooms (still labeled as 314 and 315) into one hotel room with a little entryway between them. Each side had a bathroom with a shower, toilet and bidet, and one side had a king bed while the other side had two twin beds, plus another bed that rolled out from under one of the twin beds.”
