I could not enter or exit the hotel comfortably as there were usually people smoking near the entrance. At night the entire patio in front of the hotel was packed with smokers. Afterwards the mess of cigarette butts were not cleaned.
I have been staying at this hotel many times, for more than 30 years! It is small, very simple; it is not a luxury or fashion hotel; however, the staff is very friendly, good service, excellent location in the heart of Punta del Este and very reasonable price. It has not swimming pool, SPA or other amenities, but it has a comfortable bed, clean bathroom and good breakfast.
Overall it is okay. Clean but small room. Good but not great breakfast buffet. For the price it is definitely worth it. Great location. You MUST, MUST, MUST bring your passport! Don't forget. October 20th was cold so also bring a jacket.
My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights and everything was perfect! Excellent location - at the heart of the city centre, clean & spacious rooms with AC, fast WiFi, last but not least very friendly staff made our accommodation perfect. Highly recommended
I live in Montevideo, Uruguay. And when I go to Punta del Este to spend a couple of days or a week end I always go to the Bonne Etoile. Its a family Hotel situated walking distance from the marina. I love going to the quey at the marina in the morning where the fisherman are selling their catch and watch the sea wolves waiting for the tidbits that are thrown to them. The rooms and bathrooms are plain and very neat and clean. Breakfast is "no frills" but has everything. Good coffee and tea. The people that work there are wonderful.
Stayed for 3 nights in a twin room. Great location (10 mins walk from Bus Station) with good access to 2 beaches. The service is highly professional and the hotel has a good lobby area where you can sit down with some drinks and smokes. The restaurants in the area are quite expensive, but I can recommend a good eatery called Rustic (open during lunch hours mostly), located not far from the hotel.
Wonderful service, immaculate, with a good breakfast and parking, this hotel is the perfect choice for those who look for a good location in Punta del Este, in the middle of downtown, without having to pay a fortune. And the people at Reception will always do their best to please their cuatomers. A great finding!!
I stayed here with my wife and my seventeen-year old son during the last Easter holiday, for three nights. This hotel, despite having three stars is a five-star friendly and neat hotel. Its personnel is most friendly and helpful. They speak Spanish of course but also English and Portuguese (Portuñol to be sincere) It is located just one block from famous Gorlero St. and La Plaza de los Artesanos, which are verly touristic places. Gorlero is full of businesses, including some classic restaurants like La Pasiva and Mc Donalds, and is a very popular street. The 20th St. which is where this hotel is located, on the other hand, if not so popular, is very well known for its reknown businesses, like Valentino, Tommy Hilfiger (20 mts. from the 20th), Prada, Kosiuko and many others which are most of them pricy but very fashionable. Two gas stations are on this street a few blocks from the Vista building. The 20th also includes some restaurants, but the very best are a couple blocks from the hotel when walking towards the Yatch Club and the Piers. These include: The Secret, Guappa, Olivia, Mariskonea, Lo de Tere and some others. But if you come to P del Este in the summertime, you will surely enjoy the beaches. The Emir Beach and La playa de LOS DEDOS are a few blocks from the hotel, as well as the Brava Beach. The hotel provides its customers with beach stuff like umbrellas, chairs, etc A complete brekfast is served in the ground floor from 8 AM to 12.- IN a few words a very recommandable hotel, which is very well located, very clean, with a friendly and helpful personnel. Really enjoyable. Of course, as a 3 star hotel, it doesn't offer a big lobby, neither has a pool, but its prizes are reasonable.…
The front of this hotel means that you expect more but the rooms are old, tired and small. However you don't come to Punta del Este to sit in your room so if you are looking for somewhere just to sleep then this will do the job.
The staff is very nice and they always keep the room very clean. We even got a surprise to go out for dinner and come to room with the bed opened for sleep. The price is good and the parking is spacious. Nevertheless this is clearly outdated and being the #12 in tripadvisor is a bit too much. Anyway would stay there again.
