We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is probably renovated in the midt 70's and nobody has done anything since. We guess that not even the towels have been changed since, as big spots were missing the towel cloth (have a look at the photos) Carpets are full of holes, and tiles in the bathroom are missing,...

Dirty, old, smelly and torned carpets. I´m never coming back! The only upside is the location, it´s really close from the mansa and the brava, from the bus station and the city center.

I booked this hotel through booking.com. It is ideally located, half a block away from Gorlero Avenue and only one block away from the bus station. Both beaches - Mansa and Brava - within walking distance. Considering the high prices of accommodation in Punta del Este, Shelton hotel is a good option. The hotel is in an old building (built...

I contacted this hotel directly by email to enquire about making a reservation in January 2011 to which they replied they had availability. I then requested them to book me in for specific dates to which they replied they would require my credit card details and one nights lodging as deposit to which I provided. The night before my arrival,...

I booked a room at the hotel since I'd read good reviews about it here. The location was, in fact, amazing, perfect. You could walk your way around the whole city from there. It was just a street behind the bus station, with both beaches, Mansa and Brava, within a 2-3 minute walking distance. However... the rooms were not that...

Considering the high costs of all accommodation in Punta we were completely surprised to find this hotel at such a cheap price. We paid US$36 per night and the room included 2 beds, a bathroom, cable tv, fan, aircon and a fridge. The location is amazing only 50 from 2 different beaches and a 2 min walk to the bus...

Booked for one night via booking.com for $50US and found it to be a great choice. It's 2min walk from the bus station and both beaches and there's a great restaurant El Tonel nearby. We had no problems at all with noise, it was very clean and there was even a balcony with a sea view, flatscreen cable tv and...

It is well located. Downtown and very close to the beach. The staff could've been more friendly maybe... They'd never answer my Buenos Dias but could mutter a Hola! sometimes... However they were very efficient and the room was ok. Yet we arrived much earlier than check in time but since the room was ready they let us in and...

The off-season price of US$60 per night for a superior room (including refrigerator and AC) was still too much. The overall condition of the hotel is a bit shabby with its way-outdated carpet, cramped bathrooms, lack of electrical outlets, old plumbing, and poor cable quality just wasn't the most pleasant experience. However, the staff was great with most desk clerks...
