Nestled in a prime Abu Dhabi location, the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental is hailed for its luxurious ambiance and expansive amenities, including pristine pools and private beaches that impress many travelers. Guests are charmed by the elegant decor and live music, which contribute to the inviting atmosphere. The rooms earn commendations for their comfort and cleanliness, though service in this aspect occasionally falls short of expectations. While opinions on value are mixed, with some guests finding the opulence justifies the cost and others not, the hotel's exceptional service and stunning views are frequently celebrated.

We stayed at EP in April to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. We were travelling with our children and grandchildren, seven of them all under 7! We wanted a resort that would offer us variety in restaurants and lots to entertain the children, EP was a superb choice. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the housekeeping staff kept them immaculate, turn down is perfect, no one annoying you as your get ready - they seem to do it discreetly which is a blessing unlike some hotels where there want to knock at 6pm! Each and every restaurant offered the finest of foods and the service in each of them was second to none, all led by Aris the food and beverage manager who takes a very hands on roll in ensuring all runs smoothly and visited us on many occasions - this was a very hands on approach and this is clearly filtered down to all his teams...which was clearly noted. The hotel has lovely lazy river with water slides for the children, camel rides and a lovely playground, we didn't need to venture out of the very large complex which is so convenient - as large as it is, sunbeds are plentiful and the service is perfect everywhere...the beach staff are a credit to the hotel.
We will certainly return, this hotel has it all.

Once in a lifetime experience!
First of all, we enjoyed our stay to the fullest and would highly recommend to stay at the Emirates Palace!
We loved the concept of this hotel, especially the amount of space offered as well as the two different pool areas (one focussing on family and one on adults). Moreover, the service offered at the pool area of the East Wing was excellent - Umar and Koffi made us feel welcomed, offered many small amenities to us (f.ex. ice pops in the afternoon, small smoothies) and always tried to find the right spot for relaxation. We also enjoyed the nice small talk we had with them from time to time, also giving us some ideas of what to do and experience in Abu Dhabi. In addition, they always arranged the sunbeds in a very comfortable way and supplied us with complimentary water!
Apart from that, we also enjoyed the Episodes café a lot! We had some nice cakes, ate a sandwich at the Deli and tried some nice drinks at the Apothecary (the Pink Flamingo is just stunning!). Mehdi has been a very kind and forthcoming waiter! He welcomed us every evening, it was nice to have some small talk with him and he also remembered our preferences.

In general, we loved the atmosphere at this hotel, the amount of space offered as well as the tranquility! Even though this hotel has a lot of rooms, one does not meet a lot of people and even in the restaurants or at the beach or pool, it is really calm.
Our room (Deluxe room with garden view) also had a great size and the bathroom has been pretty large. The facilities were also on a high standard - just on a level that you expect from MO.

Myself and my husband recently spent a weekend staying here at this absolutely beautiful hotel, and we are already planning another stay soon! From the second we walked through the door to the second we walked out, it was pure perfection! Everything was magical, the room was so comfortable and beautifully designed with the most cosy bed we have ever slept in. It was my husbands birthday so they had arranged a cake and some nice chocolates to be in the room when we arrived (the cake was a very welcomed midnight snack on the balcony and was utterly delicious!) We had dinner at the new beach restaurant Sand and Koal and was outstanding, we spent 2 days at one of the pools (with the swim up bar) and we enjoyed fabulous hospitality from all the staff there, from the wonderful lifeguards to the fantastic pool and bar staff who took care of our every need, and we enjoyed some expertly made cocktails from the pool bar. The next morning we enjoyed a long and leisurely breakfast and we loved it so much, you can eat your way around the world with the most extensive breakfast buffet that we have ever seen! The fresh fruits, the pastries, the sushi, the avocado on fresh sourdough, the donuts, the coffee and tea and the fruit juices, all were amazing!!! The hotel grounds, gardens and beach were all immaculate and we loved exploring all the different areas (we ended up walking 10,000 steps because we wanted to see everything!) the hotel is huge, but if you’re not a great walker then don’t worry, they have golf carts to take you around as well as many bikes to pick up from around the ground to explore more! All the staff were incredible, we also loved the smiling and polite security who are scattered all around the hotel, all were so nice and helpful. We have to say though, the star of the weekend for us was at the check in desk,
Johannes Kampmann was the most warm and delightful person we have ever met at any hotel (and we have stayed in over 400 accommodations over 75 countries in 20 years together) everything about him was amazing, he was so genuine and we felt like he was an old friend when he greeted us. He deserves so much credit because he’s such an asset to your fabulous hotel! Thank you so much for taking such good care of us during our stay, we cannot wait to come back again soon!!

We stayed for 1 night in Sept 2023. First impressions are it’s a very grand hotel and has lovely interior. Check in was smooth and although our room wasn’t ready they arranged for lunch.
We dined in the Italian and this was exceptional food and service, would highly recommend. However, it was downhill from here. Our room was nice and spacious and a crib had been set up. We were given some complimentary dates in a small box but when we opened them they had small ants inside so we naturally we binned them.

Our room was quite far from the kids pool which we found strange to put us there given that we had our 2 year old with us. It also meant getting a buggy to it every-time we went. Normally this is fine but we had to wait 15-20mins on the buggy which was frustrating, particularly with a child. The kids pool is nice and the slides are great for entertainment however they have an issues with crows around the pool who will eat any food or in our case drinks any drinks that are left unattended. This meant one of us had to be at our Sun loungers at all times.

We opted for half board but the dinner buffet restaurant was quite chaotic in terms of service and food was average at best. I would not recommend.

Breakfast the next morning was similar in terms of service, with long waiting times and orders not turning up at all. Shout out to Alex who saw our frustration and came over to help us receive our coffees.

Overall, a beautiful hotel but needs a big improvement if it is to reach the standard of the many other 5 star options available in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.

We did feed back our comments to the hotel and were offered a free upgrade if we booked again in order to ‘restore our confidence’ but we politely declined as I wouldn’t risk having the same experience again.

The Emirates Palace is indeed one of the finest properties in the world. At the reception desk, we were warmly greeted by Yigit and Johannes Kampmann, who were both very professional and provided first-class service. We were informed of the hotel's amenities and escorted to our room. The room was in perfect shape (kudos to housekeeping) and the bed was extremely comfortable. At the beach, Praveen helped us with our beach chairs as well as with our snacks' order. A small dissatisfaction with one of the items was perfectly handled by both Praveen and the food manager. The breakfast buffet was delicious, in particular, the kibbeh fantastically prepared by Mary. While checking out, Joseph helped us to put our luggage in storage. He did so with a friendly smile. At the reception, we had the pleasure of interacting again with Johannes and Yigit. Ahmed Adel helped us put our valuables in a safe deposit box. We were then able to spend some time at the pool before heading to the airport for our flight back home. The only feedback we would like to provide is to the pool attendants. Perhaps, they may need to be more proactive in helping customers set up the pool lounge chairs. In our experience, the towel station was often unattended. We were never approached and offered help in setting the chairs up. We did not mind doing it ourselves but the expectation in a property such as the Emirates Palace is different. Thank you to Johannes, Yigit, Ahmed A., Praveen and Joseph for helping create some great memories!

The greatest disappointment of our trip in Abu Dhabi...
We wanted to go for a lunch in the Emirates Palace Hotel to eat the famous "camel burger", but we soon found ourselves leaving.
We were asked to wait OUTSIDE for 25 minutes just to get a table and find that there was dirt underneath! In such a luxurious hotel, you would expect everything to be immaculate and the staff to be polite. However, when we nicely asked for somebody to clean our allocated table, a lady named Rose (from the Epi2odes restaurant) said that she is not supposed to clean anything and that we should call housekeeping (which would have taken another 20 minutes at least, as she said herself). When we told her that we were going to make a complaint, she was very rude and arrogantly said "Go!", turning her back and leaving us alone. Very unprofessional and unexpected in such a prestigious hotel!
Nonetheless, the entire hotel was dirty! The carpets on the stairs hadn't been cleaned in a very long time and the building hadn't seen a makeover in ages either (or at least it seemed like that)...
Moreover, if you are not what they call "white", they will hesitate or not allow you to enter their "precious" restaurant. We've seen at least 2 couples being rejected because of this. I don't think that there is any place for racism in such a distinguished hotel.
Overall, it is not acceptable that such a renowned hotel that costs 1000 euro/night to be in such condition and have such careless and unprofessional staff!
A very much overrated and saddening experience!

This hotel is huge!

On arrival, we were wowed by the opulence and grandeur. We were taken to Reception where we were told our room wasn’t ready. It was 9pm! There was no welcome drink either, which I would expect in a hotel of this standard. We were advised to go and get something to eat and come back after to get our room key. When we were given our key, we were directed by the receptionist, which way to go, so I fed we went to try and find the room in the huge hotel! Things like this don’t really match five star standards in my opinion. We have visited Dubai several times and have always received a welcome drink and escorted to the room.

The room was a good size with a Nespresso machine, kettle, toiletries etc. The bed was a disappointment as it really wasn’t very comfortable.

The grounds are huge and it takes a few days to get your bearings.

The beach is lovely and very clean. The beach/pool staff are an absolute credit to the hotel, especially Koffi who was so delightful.

There are plenty of very good restaurants in the hotel, which you are best making a reservation for to avoid disappointment.

The hotel is at the end of the Corniche, which you could walk to but we ended up taking taxis everywhere, which is cheap compared to the UK.

Overall, we had a wonderful time but feel there is room for improvement.

This was our third stay at the hotel and this time it really exceeded all our expectations. My husband and I were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, which I notified the hotel directly, and the special occasion was really well catered for.

We stayed in one of the sea view suites and it was just pure luxury. The attention to detail was something else as many times the suites are just bigger in size but lacking in thought but this is not the case with the EP suites. As suite guests, we also got access to the EP club, which offers a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere to enjoy a champagne breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapes. The staff working at the EP club will definitely add value to your overall experience.

This time we enjoyed eating lunch and dinner at Hakkasan, Talea, Alma and Broadway restaurants. As expected the level of service and food was amazing and the staff even more so. A special shout out to the staff working on Broadway on Saturday night, thank you so much for looking after us so well - we had such a great night! I think we need to try out your Saturday brunch very soon.

The hotel grounds are huge but the buggy service is well organized and functioning so you don't need to sweat in the scorching sun. Once more, thank you for making our stay memorable - we are fans!

This is a unique and spectacular property. The scale is jaw dropping and fitting with the Emirates Palace name. The spec of everything is top class and you truly feel like royalty in your time as a guest.

We enjoyed gold cappuccinos soon after arriving before heading to our well appointed garden room, where a box of chocolates and fruit bowl was awaiting us. The bed was huge and very comfortable, the shower and bath excellent and the other facilities spot on.

There are a wide range of restaurants available in the hotel including Mexican, Lebanese, American, Asian and more.

The beach is enormous and camel rides and lots of water sports, including inflatable play area, are available.

There are two very well kitted out gyms and the in house PT Javier was very helpful on the one we visited. There are a number of pools, including adult only and one with a lazy river and water slide for kids.

Breakfast was superb - an incredible selection for all tastes - and Praveen in particular was very helpful.

The grounds are beautifully manicured and the staff were extremely professional and friendly.

Great property well trained team to offer their very best. Great food as it was better than expected. Must try Avocado toast at club lounge plus their restaurants also have amazing food and services. Shall try and return again. Suggestion : for my suites Buttler shud be employed and marble surfaces and tables need proper polish etc.

Hi, the hotel does an excellent job during extreme heat. Lots of shaded sunbeds, the pools are kept cool to accommodate to extreme heat. Activities for teenagers, not sure, but did see water sport activities in the ocean such as jet skies, water slides. You won’t be disappointed though. Hope this helps a bit & you have a great stay.

I am not sure. We only went for tea, an amazing 4hr experience. I would believe for club level rooms there would be an assortment of food and beverages. They are not shy about pricing their accommodations considering this was the grand palace and all dignataries stay here
