4 walls - check. Roof - check. Floor - check. This hotel does the job, but doesn't impress in any respect. The bed and pillows are like granite, not a problem for me, but others may object. Bathroom is very small. No issues for the single traveller, but cramped for 2 people. On the plus side, the rooms facing away...

Rooms are clean, but that's about it. The food is ok , but with a very limited choice. The hotel is situated in a dull area. To visit the centre of Damascus, you have to take a taxi (+- 15 minutes, depending on traffic)

The location is off the main road heading out from Damascus to Beirut. Note that the hotel named as Al Jalaa is not on Al Jalaa street - if you go there you'll be miles away. The key is to ask a taxi driver to take you to the Mazzeh quarter. Also get the hotel to email you the name...
