I can't remember a hotel I have enjoyed more. The location of Albal hotel is brilliant, in the Old city just steps from Bab Touma and close to restaurants, shops etc. The hotel itself is a beautifully renovated Damascene house, and the rooms (just 12 I think) are wonderful. The perfect place to come back to after a day of...

My husband and I went to Damascus as part of our Middle East honeymoon trip. Damascus was our last stop and we had stayed at a mix of accommodations - small, boutique and 5 stars - along the way. We left Aleppo and arrived at Damascus/Albal at night. As soon as we were invited into the lobby, my husband and...

The hotel is a traditional residence that has been converted into a hotel. The owners have done an excellent job of maintaining the old feel of the place (central courtyard, fountain, traditional decor), making it very much a part of your Damascus vacation experience. Service was very helpful right from check in - at the last minute our family had...

The hotel itself is set in a beautiful old building within the walls of Damascus old town. The way the building has been renovated is wonderful, everything is in keeping with the original style and the modern additions of a retractable cover for the courtyard and glass doors to let in extra light work really well. That said our rooms...

We were going to stay two nights at the Albal Hotel initially, but eventually stayed four. We really loved the beautifully designed courtyard, our spacious and comfortable room and the location near Bab Touma, within walking distance of everything in the old town. The staff are very nice and willing to help with everything. I had some stomach trouble on...

Stayed at this boutique hotel with my family and friends . It was a pleasant surprise to find all the amenities of a five star hotel yet with the atmosphere of an old house. It is a 200 year old house which was renovated and opened six months ago, but still keeping with the old atmosphere, which is a central...

From the moment we entered Al Bal hotel, we were in awe. From the beautiful decor to the lovely staff, it is a truly amazing hotel. The rooms were spotless and, whilst traditionally furnished, were new and clean. The included breakfast was enough to keep us going until mid-afternoon. The hotel is in the old quarter of Damascus so within...
