I stayed in this typical Arab style hotel two years ago. In fact I had a reservation in another hotel which was also in the old town but since the taxi driver couldn't find it I asked him to take me to Zaetona where I had a reservation for the next day. It was hard for the taxi driver to...

Wonderful hotel.located strategically at the heart of Old Damascus. Just few walks away from the Umayyad Mosque and souq hamideeya. Stayed here for 6 nights and feel like travelling back to the old ages. This is an old building (like other building in old Damascus) but well renovated to a hotel. Located at the bab Touma and its good value...

My sister & I wanted a place close to Bab Touma. Because of the uncertain situation in Syria, we were not positive we would be able to travel there, so we did not book a hotel. We had a list of boutique hotels to visit to see if they had rooms available. Al Zaetona was the first hotel we tried,...

Really it's a no brainer you should stay here and/ or it's sister hotel around the corner. We had our 11month old boy and they couldn't have done more to help. Also check with Maram as she can organise safe drivers to take you around the sites. The rooms are all quirky and beautiful you feel like you've experienced Damascus...

The first thing to say is that this hotel is not in Bab Touma square -it is off the square and a bit difficult to locate in the myriad of little alleyways.I am pleased that more hotels are opening up in the Old City and this is a good mid-range option, although possibly overpriced. The rooms vary enormously in size and quality...

We spent 4 nights in the Al Zaetona hotel. It is a beautifully restored old Damascene house in a convenient and attractive part of the old city. The staff are unusually nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The bedrooms are all different and nicely appointed. We thought it was excellent value -- especially after we spent 2 nights...

My wife and I travelled to Damascus and stayed in Zaetona hotel in Novemeber for three nights. Travel agency booked the hotel for us. It is said to be a 4-star hotel, but in reality it is a 3-star hotel at best accordfing to western standard. Breakfast is included but no restaurant. It is an old small hotel with no...

We had been trying to get into some of the more expensive boutique hotels but left boking too late. I'm pleased we did, as this place is more reasonably priced and I thought it was gorgeous. Beautiful courtyard for breakfast with singing canary. Room was lovely. Breakfast great and staff really sweet and helpful. The room was clean, quite spacious...

Friendly and welcoming staff. Very helpful at providing recommendations on where to eat and what to see. Stayed here the last 2 nights of our trip around Syria so we weren't trying to organise any trips outside of the city through the hotel. Great breakfast. Location in the Christian quarter of the old city is very central. Rooms were large...

Al Zaetona is an excellent mid-range hotel. The public space and rooms have a lot of character with tasteful, local furniture and decorations. The breakfast is great and authentic. And the location is great, in the middle of the Christian section near the Bab Touma gate. The only complaint is that my room faced the street which was fairly noisy,...
