I was in Jerusalem after a 2 week tour of Israel/ Palestine, and needed a place to stay for the night. A friend recommended the Jerusalem Hotel, and I took the advice. I could not have been more pleased. VERY unique rooms, great price, and INCREDIBLE service..INCREDIBLE! It's close proximity to the Old City allowed a night stroll..magical. I had...

Just steps from the Dasmascus Gate with thick stone walls, large spacious rooms, and unique Arabian decor, this hotel has great character. I was concerned that the rooms would be cold due to the stone walls, but they were well heated. Bathrooms were quite small, but sometimes that's the compromise for character.

This hotel is in a perfect location just steps from the gate of the old city! The feel of the hotel is so unique. The rooms are carved out of what look like caves. The stay is comfortable, the staff is kind and helpful, the price is more than reasonable. There are plenty of other tourists staying there that you...

This is the second time we have stayed at the Jerusalem Hotel because we love it so much. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and the hotel is filled with unusual old artefacts from old Palestine with traditional embroidery on the bedspreads. This time we were on the ground floor and had twin beds - each bed was practically big enough...

We stayed there for five nights. Originally booking for 3 and because of its great location in East Jerusalem so close to the walled city, booked in for a further 2. It is in an excellent place for visits to other parts of Israel and Palestine and it run by really friendly caring people. The food and drink was excellent...

Loved this hotel. The rooms were beautiful with the stone work and needlepoint bed spreadsheet. Initially we were worried about the proximity to the Damascus Gate but we felt it was a sanctuary from the hum of activity. The only downside is the second hand smoke coming into our room from the restaurant.

From the moment I walked in I was struck by the charm of the Jerusalem Hotel. The building is over 100 years old and made of huge stones, but the age does not in any way diminish comfort. Rooms were clean and tidied daily, staff is friendly and accommodating, the amenities were sufficient and always available to help meet your...

We only had lunch here on our last day in Jerusalem. But the service was very good, and the meal enjoyable. And O would reccomend this place to eat out in. It is not far away from the ancient walled city.

This is a beautiful traditional family-run hotel, just a few minutes away from Damascus Gate. The rooms are stunning with high ceilings, and ornately decorated with traditional pictures, and wooden furnishings. The garden is one of our favourite hang-outs in Jerusalem and is a melting pot of all nationalities and walks of life who come to enjoy the cosy convivial...

If you want to avoid chain-run hotels and support a Palestinian family owned business, this is a great place to go - it's a 19th century Arabic mansion, that has been owned and run by the same family since 1960. The Jerusalem Hotel is extremely well located for visiting the Old City, just a 5 minute walk from Damascus Gate....
