I stayed several nights in a private room which was little more than a cupboard but clean, although the sheets were not changed throughout my stay. I would say that the private rooms could be a little better value for money. I extended my stay by a couple of nights and subsequently spent the night in a dormitory before sleeping...

Great atmosphere, amazing building, 500 year old walls. Okay, the showers are not the most comfortable, but they do their job, the dorms are quite stuffed with beds, but that’s what dorms usually are. The only thing that was really negative for me was that there were no lockers or shelves in the rooms. Great locations, right in the old...

The staff at Citadel were really friendly and helpful, and the vibe at the hostel was pretty chill. We stayed in a private room with 1 full bed and 1 twin. The full size bed was actually really comfortable, the twin size had some plastic covering that didn’t seem so comfy. We had a window in our room which was...

When I saw I could sleep on the roof in their rooftop tent I was excited. Not half as exciting was seeing that the tent covering the roof was no longer there .. just open air .. The day I arrived it was raining yet They just took my money and pointed upstairs to the roof The service is cold...

I stayed in a female dorm (9 beds) and it was very badly ventilated. There was no window, the room was dusty. The toilets had water leakage, so the floor was often inundated. However, the location was very good.

Stayed on the roof with crappy mattresses with 20+ other people. I wanted to kick 3 snorers but that couldn't happen. Woke up in the am and the fridge door was falling off and my food was spoiled. The kitchen had no stuff to use and the bathrooms were not pleasant. The place could be so much better if they...

Stayed at the hostel on the night between April 26-27, 2014. The reception clerk said that they take only cash (nowhere on the website this is indicated. I arrived late. What would have happened if I didn't have any cash?..). Gave his 100 NIS for sleeping on the roof (69 NIS). He did not have change for me and said...

How bad can it be to stay the night in an old building with heaps of character, a kitchen to use for free, a rooftop view (or dorm), the best scenery in the world- the old city of Jerusalem and polite, helpful staff? My only problem was the thin walls, so you can hear pretty much everything that's going on.

I stayed at The Citadel Youth Hostel during Holy Week, so it may have been a little crazy and full at this point. But I stayed on the roof of the hostel (which has a beautiful view) with about 40+ other people. Again, this is holy week and everywhere was full up. They give you a nice mat and blanket...
