We reached tulip at 3 am and what started as a weird trip from the airport turned out to be one of the best trips of our lives. The staff at tulip are so hospitable and make you feel right at home. The rooms are a little small but they are spotless. The washrooms are clean and so is the...

One of the loveliest places I've stayed in, mainly due to the staff. Really central location, close to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia in the old town. The staff are funny, always available, and keen to help you find what you need and give tips on the best stuff to see and do. Also excellent Turkish breakfast, with the breakfast...

Tulip Guesthouse offered a very pleasant stay in Istanbul. Located in a quiet part of Sultanahmet (Istanbul old town), is only a short 5 min walk to the main sites - Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Whilst the rooms are quite small (we had a private double room) they are...

Nice areas to relax (kitchen for everyone, lounge area in the back for those staying in the dorm). Good ratio of bathrooms to people. Disnyland staff when it comes to friendliness, I felt like I was working with Macintosh customer service. My bud lost his camera at the bus station and reception didn't hesitate to make multiple calls in the...

Staying at Tulip was like staying with friends. Metin and Enes are incredibly helpful and welcoming. They took us to smoke waterpipes on bean bags and swim at a nice beach along the Bosphorous. Rooms clean and tidy, perfect location, wicked breakfast, lovely people. What more could you ask?

I enjoyed my stay at The Tulip Guesthouse. The hospitality was excellent, very friendly ambience, great views from rooftop & good breakfasts. The dorm was crammed with beds and the bathroom was shared between 12 people, and not necessarily that clean. Highly recommended if you can afford your own ensuite room.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
