We felt very welcome at once. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms cozy and clean. The bathroom spotless, and the location excellent. The kitchen is super nice with panoramic view over the sea. The breakfast is wonderful and we are looking forward to staying at the hotel on our return back to Turkey in March

I found this place to be great except ın one department - the walls are pretty thin and the floors wooden so (depending on the floor you are on) you may have trouble sleeping if you are a light sleeper.

My sister and I stayed for a week at the Tulip in October 2010. We found Enis and Metin to be very helpful and informative with our daily plans and travel advice. The lady that makes the breakfast is a sweetie. The breakfast is great by the way! Free wifi and the occasional use of a crappy laptop upstairs. The...

We visited Istanbul for 4 days, and Tulip Guesthouse was in an ideal location for the places we wanted to visit. It was only a 5 minute walk from the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and the metro (providing access to many other sites). The staff were friendly and helpful in recommending places to see/eat. The rooms were a good size,...

Stayed in Tulip Guesthouse for 4 days, and had such a good time there. The people who work there are amazing. Very sweet and friendly. Very central, excellent breakfast included, and wonderful view of the Marmara Sea. Also the bed and the showers were really nice. Will stay here again if I go back to Istanbul :)

This place was in a great location close to everything in Sultanahmet. A short walk to Eminonu and bazaar districts too. Great breakfast and awesome staff. The room was basic, but clean and there was always hot water plus a nice view of the water. For only 45 euro, this place was awesome!

We had a great stay in the Tulip Guesthouse. From the first moment until the very last the people of Tulip were really kind and treated us like friends. Always someone there to help you or just to have a nice chat with. Further on all the facilities and rooms were more than okay. Definitely THE PLACE TO BE when...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
