My friend and I were in a standard room for two we did not expect a luxury hotel - we knew we got to the hostel. We chose the room that the toilet and shower are outside the room - The room was fourth floor and inside it we had a bed and a closet and we did not need...

The Chillout is just a classic budget hostel, as you know from many places (no luxury at all, but beds are fine to sleep in and toilets + showers are most time clean), but additionally it got the absolute perfect location in the middle of Beyoglu, close to Galata Tower, Istiklal Cadessi and Taksim Square, very friendly, helpful and good...

Even though the staff are friendly and the location is great (for those who like istiklal street) I was severely bitten by insects what the receptionist told me could be bed bugs :S I had a private room with a bathroom not staying in the shared rooms. It's for backpackers who don't mind taking the risk

as far as I learned this is the first chill out hostel in Istanbul. After whole confusing chill out names, I think the shroud switch the name because it is not related to what it was years ago. Now it's a clean, well organized and good value for money hostel at the heart of Istiklal. Staff helped me a lot,...

Very nice hostel! It is always a pleasure to visit you and use your services. I like the refreshing atmosphere and the always polite people working there :) Big plus is the location, which give you the priority to reach for seconds the famous Istiklal Caddesi. Also public transport connections are very close.

we need to take everybody's id information who is going upstairs to the rooms, and we call this "security", personally i wouldnt want to stay in a hostel where anybody can walk in to the rooms area, so sorry but this is our rule which we take very seriously.

The staff were very helpful and the room was full of interesting travellers that I could have an interesting conversation with. On the last day of my trip, they let me leave all my stuff in the lobby and charge all my devices for free of charge. Very nice spot in the hippest part of Istanbul.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
