The hotel was a little hard to find. Our taxi driver dropped us off by the Hagia Sophia about 100 meters away pointing us in what direction we had to walk to see it. There was construction on the mosque which left everythingn very dark and sketchy so we were a bit nervous. But after a few steps there was...

We found this hotel last minute on our second trip to Istanbul. Love staying in this area so perfect for that. Wasn't as impressed with hotel as I would like. Wifi in our corner room was really bad, shower didn't work so luckily we were moved to better room off the street. Restaurant has very nice ambience but food was...

My friend and I loved being here right in the middle of old town. Easy walk to Blue Mosque, Culhane Park and Topkapi. And not too far from Grand Bazaar. Rooms small but clean and very comfortable. Restaurant excellent. Staff very helpful. Many restaurants around to choose from.

We arrived late one night ( 11pm) and was allocated a small but adequate room. But then we looked out the window and realised we were facing the street and only one level above the ground. We had trams going past ringing their bells, and people partying in the streets. the bathroom was unclean and had hair in the sink....

The hotel is perfectly situated for walking to all the best historical sites and traveling by tram to other sites as well. The staff is also very friendly and amenable. My husband stayed there in 2008 as well and like the service. Unfortunately the physical plant needs help. When the water went out for 2 days (a particular problem in...

Truly--can't beat the location. Loved the view of Hagia Sophia next door, hearing the Blue Mosque calls to prayer, walking to Topkapi and the grand bazaar. Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
