The Ada is a lovely family-run hotel located minutes from the sights in Sultanahmet, including Haghia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Unfortunately, the taxi we picked up at the airport was unable to locate either the Ada, or the hotel of the random tourist with whom we were required to share the taxi. I would recommend contacting the kind and helpful...

My sister and I took a trip to Istanbul in May 2009. Staying at the Ada Hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel owner, Dr. Doogan is the nicest man! On our arrival, he upgraded us to a deluxe room for no extra charge, simply because the room was vacant. The room was spotless, with a...

I just spent 5 days at this hotel. I was so pleased with all aspects of my stay. My room had a wonderful view from both my windows looking out over the Bosphorus and a part of the old wall. The room was a nice size, very clean, large comfortable bed and Jacuzzi tub! Included with the room was a...

We enjoyed staying at Ada Hotel very much. We used two double rooms. Very clean and functional rooms. Great service. Proximity to most historical and points of interest was very convenient for us with small children. The owner Dogan was very helpful advising and arranging reasonable cost transportation to places we wanted to visit, including free transportation from and to...

We stayed at the Ada Hotel and it was just right for us. It was extremely clean and everyone was so helpful. One of the most important things for us was that they had a "house phone" in which we were encouraged to use to call home at no cost to us or to them. We just dialed the phone...

My wife and I stayed at Ada Hotel in a double room with sea view June 11-14, 2009. Let me say first that without Dr. Dogan's (owner) hosting, advice, and conversations while still would have been a very good B&B, he took it to a much higher level. When we first got to the hotel (at 7 AM from an...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
