I took my wife and two boys to Istanbul for our first visit to Turkey and we stayed at the Sofa twice during our 10 day trip in Turkey. The location of the hotel is hard to fault if you like to be in one of the funkier parts of a city and we noted the location of the other...

This hotel was recommended to us by a friend who had been there 5 years earlier. She was travelling with a museum group and had her days and transportation planned so it worked out well for her. We found the young men at the concierge desk to be gracious and helpful, but cannot say the same for the rest of...

I have stayed in this hotel several times and always it has been a pleasant experience. Rooms are quite spacious and high quality. Only minus is that if your room faces street side it will be noisy in night time because of heavy traffic passing the hotel. Breakfast is good and personnel friendly. Spa is relatively large and attractive. Location...

The room and the bathroom were huge and very comfortable. The service was very friendly and professional, and the spa was quite large and cosy at the same time. The window of my room went onto the interior courtyard, which not everyone may like - but for me it was fine, and better than watching Istanbul traffic and January rain...

Sometimes boutique simply means small. This hotel delivered with large rooms, high quality fixtures and little touches such as hand made soap on a string! The bar was uber cool if you wanted to stay in. It doesn't have a pool or a view of the bosphorus but for a weekend with friends who needs that.

I stayed at the Sofa Hotel while attending a training. I will return for a vacation. The hotel is comfortable, the location is excellent, but...the service is the BEST I have ever encountered. The staff are exceptional, they are so accomodating and genuinely concerned about their guests comfort. I don't now if the managment does an exceptional job hiring, or...

If the ability to sleep is a criteria for your hotel selection, avoid this property at all cost. The walls are paper thin, many rooms have connecting doors allowing for an even better opportunity to be involved with your neighbors routines. Located on a busy street rooms facing the front of the hotel are subjected to constant traffic noise that...

The room was nice, the bathroom products were of a high standard and the location was great, however these three things are the only things I can say that are nice of the hotel. On arriving we rang to ask whether the bottled water in the room was free, and we were told it was for the first, then they...

Me and my wife were on a congress, june 1 - 5, and had a great experience with this hotel. We specially apreciated the breakfast, the helpful staff, the concierge - Deniz and his colleagues, the spa, the laundry service and the excellent bathrooms. We dont agree and we dont understand the critizism towards the crew in this forum. At...

Staying in Sisli

Neighbourhood Profile
Sisli
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
