We arrived to Istanbul after the long-distance driving from Capadokia. The hotel we have booked informed us about the "problem" with our accommodation and we came to the city centre without any ideas about staying. After the long searching only Istanbul Holiday Hotel proposed us economy accommodation of enough good quality. Thanks a lot to Islam, who was very kind...

We stayed in this hotel for 10 days. Although the room was very simple , - no closet space, it is located in the heart of Sultan Ahmet area. The staff is very friendly. I got to meet the owner, who spends most of his days there. He was very kind and constantly striving to make his hotel a more...

Rooms are small but average. Excellent location as it's two minutes walk from blue mosque and Topkapi palace and other historic places. Defiantly recommend it if you are not going to spend time in the hotel, which u r more then lucky to not as there is so much to do and see in Istanbul:)

Booked this hotel in April 2015, and arrived in July having found out our rooms were double booked. We were told that we only had an option of staying in two double rooms. This was a disappointing start to my holiday as the reason we booked a family suite was to be together. After discussing this matter several times, we...

4 night in this hotel. Location was great, near by Blue Moskey and Hagia Sophie. Same street with hotel are many restaurants and minimarkets. Room was really small, I mean really, really small. Breakfast was poor. Nice staff. Xxxxxxxxxxxx

This hotel met our expectations for the price we made but didn't exceed them. The location is great, central, quiet neighbourhood and easy to walk to restaurants and sights. The room was quaint not much room to do more than sit on the bed but if had some cupboards to stash your bags in. The bathroom wasn't great with an...

The hotel was very quaint, clean & in a great central location of old town, The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, offer suggestions on restaurants & shopping. And offered a very nice breakfast which was included in our room. "Thunderbolt" the manager was the BEST and hope to return to that beautiful city & stay at...

I have been there 4 nights this week, I had booked with ebookers and managed a great deal. It is well located, just behind the Blue Mosque, in the centre of the Sultanahmet historic district. I enjoyed walking from here to every famous city highlights. The hotel is not worth the 4 stars mentioned. The room I had booked was...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
