This hostel is in a great location in Sultanahmet and it is close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. I am sure there are better hostels in the area you could stay at. We booked the four person en-suite bathroom room through hostelworld.com and when we arrived they tried charging us a higher price per night for the room.... More

I only stayed for one night, but it was a great night. The staff were very helpful and engaging. The rooms and bed were very clean and comfortable and the curtain along the beds adds privacy which is great. The 4 bed dorm was a little small but having an ensuite in the room was convenient. The shower was awesome.... More

Stayed at the Bahaus for a few days over New Years. This was my very first hostel experience and I did not know what to expect, and honestly I was scared before we got there. But I survived and it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be! The rooms very spacious, bathrooms pretty clean, and staff very nice!... More

Young, chill atmosphere and a awesome staff that knows some really cool spots in Istanbul. Well-priced dorms and a really nice living room with bar and terrace with view on the Golden Horn. You're also only 5 to 10 minutes away from all the big attractions of the old Istanbul. If you're looking for the perfect mix between visiting Istanbul,... More

After reading all the reviews, i am very sure most of them were written by aduts below 25. I persoanlly did not like the hostel because it was not something we would expect. Tip 1: Location - although this is a good location just right in the heart of sultanahmet, it is still pretty difficult to find the hostel unless... More

The guys at Bauhaus are really helpful -- Khan found a friend of his to store my bike for nearly two months, and they're just generally good dudes. It's a bit pricier than some of the surrounding dorms, but they're often dives, and Bauhaus is a good, clean place to relax or soak in the Bosphorus views. An awesome place... More

The great thing about this hostel is the location, which is near to most tourist attractions- the blue mosque, hagia sophia, topkapi palace etc. Free breakfast, free wifi, clean toilet and shower, common PC available. The price is a bit high compare to other hostel in other capital city of europe. I like the rooftop bar and common area. Recommended... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“All the rooms are good. Choose a dorm with a private bathroom for more convenience”
of 5 bubbles wonderkidDelhi, 14 Jan 2015 | Read review
“I stayed in the 14 bed dorm and it was very spacious, with curtains for each bunk bed. There were also 3 full bathrooms with showers just to accommodate the 14 bed dorm, I NEVER waited for a bathroom to be open which I think is incredible with a full dorm. Each bed has it's own reading light and outlet to plug in whatever you need and there are hairdryers in all the bathrooms. There was also a little couch/lounge area within the 14 bed dorm which was cool. Bring your own lock. Everything was clean, hot water all the time and very nice showers. Ask for a room away from the rooftop terrace if you don't want music at night.”
