A very small boutique hotel only a short walk to the two major mosques and Topkapi palace.Lots of restaurants nearby, with tram stop at end of the street. Superbly renovated rooms, excellent bathroom, great roof top terrace restaurant overlooking tree tops.Very friendly staff, especially the owner Duran. Highly recommended.

When you are traveling with a group that contains a variety of ages (11 of us), it is almost impossible to please everyone, but we were very lucky to find this hotel. It is our first time visiting Turkey, but it has been a very pleasant one. The hotel has a great location for my mum and aunts, who are...

My family and I travelled in a large group, and with a huge range of ages. Normally this can be very problematic, because they all want different things. Zeynep Sultan managed to please everyone. The hotel is very well located, only a very short distance from several major tourist sites, including Ara Sofya (Hagia Sofia), Sultanahmet (the Blue Mosque), Topkapi...

We found the hotel easily travelling by tram from the airport and were welcomed and settled in in no time. All our questions were answered and we found the room clean and with all facilities just as we would want them. Breakfast was varied and more than adequate for us. A quiet atmosphere pervades this hotel.

We recently stayed in the Zeynep Sultan during our visit to Istanbul. We were delighted by the location, staff, cleanliness and service we received. The breakfast served to us in the morning was beyond anything we had expected and was delicious with a large variety of foods to chose from. Firstly, I should say that choosing this hotel was our first and best decision about our accommodation in Istanbul trip (18-23 march). Although there are lots of hotel nearby in Sultan Ahmed district, several things make the Zeynep Sultan hotel unique. Small hotel with friendly service, clean rooms, updated bathrooms. Great breakfast buffet on rooftop, in the shadow of Ayia Sophia. Five minute walk to Sultanahmet Square, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Ayia Sophia, the Cisterns or the Hippodrome. A few more minutes to the Spice Bazaar or the ferries.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The cradle of civilization...Turkey...From Hitites to Urartus, Phrygians to Lycians, from Romans to Seljuks...They all lived here. A city that gave birth to and fostered three glorious empires...The East Roman empire, the Byzantine empire and the Ottoman empire...Once the capital city of these empires, Istanbul is still alive and breathing a mystical blend of air, weary of the contemprary urbanization and cultural clashes. Zeynep Sultan Hotel is where you will blend a magical potion from a Roman hippodrome, an Egyptian obelisque, a Byzantine Church and an Ottoman Grand Bazaar. And maybe you will top it with the Blue Mosque or the Topkapi Palace... ... more   less
