Staff is very unfriendly and unhelpful. Accommodations look nothing like in the picture. The room I was given was not only different from what I reserved and paid for, but it was in the back of the building facing the back street on the 1st floor. You could see and been seeing by transients walking in the streets. You could...

Spent a week here. Could not fault the staff who were very helpful. We needed to have our baggage transferred from our previous hotel to here and one of the staff walked thru Instanbul's streets with me late night to retrieve it. When we requested a room change to get Bosphoros views, they did this at the first opportunity. Departing...

First impressions, it's a typical Turkish hotel. Over the top decor, much like you find in lots of places in Europe. Room was quite spacious but bathroom was the smallest over ever seen. It's the size of a broom closet, when you sit on the toilet your knees touch the sink in front of you. Wifi connection is good and...

This hotel is no frills ie no tissues in the room and the bathroom door didnt close properly. But location excellent, close to the gardens and palace with a great small convenient store around the corner and very good eateries up the street. Staff eager to help. Excellent tasty breakfast buffet. And the rooms are so warm. Which we needed...

The hotel is great for its location right in the middle of the Old Town, right next to the tram station and the Metro.. All the historical sights are within walking distance, like Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Galata Tower.. Upper story rooms have nice Bosphorous view, and the rooms are generally decent.. The staff is perfectly nice, especially Nuh, he...

We visited the Golden Horn Hotel before and after our Turkey tour. One of the staff, Nuh, brought us drinks while the staff organised our room. Very quick and easy process. Hotel is clean, rooms are nice, and the staff are always available for assistance. The breakfast is a mix of hot and cold, unlike other breakfasts with just cold...

I can not say a bad thing against the Golden Horn Hotel, Nice people who run the hotel, the staffs' English is good, the lobby is awesome, lift is small like the small but efficient rooms, ample breakfast is great, for what was paid it was ok - have stayed in a lot worse and paid more

This is a very good place in Istanbul for visiting the great Sultanahmet. It's 5 minutes away to pretty much every attraction in this district. The hotel itself is not the best I've been to due to its size. There's an obvious lack of space in the rooms but that can't bother you if you go there for sightseeing: I...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
