After a long day of travelling and trying to look for the hotel arrived at Serene Hotel quite late at night. Was greeted by a friendly receptionist who upgraded us to a nicer room and helped with our bags up the big stairs. There are no lifts so it is best to take a backpack. The hotel is in a...

Great location, clean modern rooms, best shower I have had in Turkey. Comfortable bed. Although Serene Hotel was a little tricky to find we were happy we booked it. After 5 weeks of traveling around Turkey we wanted one final night in Istanbul to finish our shopping and rest before the long journey home. Serene is located on the main...

This hotel is in a great location, with many things to do nearby. Very easy to walk to the metro station to see other areas of the city. The hotel can be very noisy, due to the busy street directly outside. We ended up playing white noise from an app on the phone to sleep. During our stay, housekeeping service...

People who give this hotel excellent rating are extremely generous in my opinion. Our room was tiny with a small bed even though we booked a king size bed, bathroom wasn't cleaned very well and we even found some stuff from previous guests. On a brighter note, location of a hotel is very good and guys at the frond desk...

Located right in the center of the nightlife, this hotel provides everything you need. Clean, comfortable, spacious, cheap.. There is nothing more you can ask from this place. Maybe it can get a little noisy during the weekends, but you risk that by staying in this neighborhood. REALLY recommend it for everyone. Staff is also very friendly and kind.

Great place to stay, the rooms are small and comfortable, the crew is nice but their English is limited, the hotel doesn't have elevator but is not that bad going up unless you have a lot of luggage, the area is very loud and if you are looking for quiet place it won't be good for you, if you need...

Amazing location right on Istiklal Avenue, the main strip in Istanbul's trendy Beyoglu neighbourhood. Good value hotel with bare bones amenities, small but clean rooms, and 24-hour concierge. A little hard to find, just look for the 'Serene Hotel' neon sign on a second floor window facing Istiklal then walk down the alley and around the corner to the lobby...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
