The hotel is nice, room also clean the owner Mahmud is really helping. The location is near then Artakoy mosque, really life area. But dont come in this hotel in winter time like me, because they are close the restourant, so you have to walk into Portakal area to get food but not to far only 10mins walk.

Thieves in the room - and nobody cares!!!!! Be careful in this hotel - a lot of money was stolen out of my room. I was complaining on site, by phone, by email....no one even contacted me!!! Twice I was able to speak to someone, they promised, that they would take care. However, they didn't even came back to me...

I have visited Istanbul many times, however this trip was unique. Staying in Ortakoy was a whole another experience , especially being with the locals felt so good and more Turkish taste mingling with them everyday. We had good stay although the room was in the ground floor under-ground , but decoration was very sweet and feels ottomans style indeed....

First, getting to the location took really a long time with a taxi, on side streets, late at night/early morning. It is really out of the way. Then, when I arrived, I thought the taxi driver was lost, this could not be it. But alas, yes, that was it. The reception (really..?!) was a room under ground, basically under the...

My first trip to Istanbul with my family .Been there for a week. - The place is originally home converted to hotel - The owners are nice , they are personally involved on day to day operation - Rooms are nicely decorated but toilet fittings were bit rusty, shower was bit of struggle . - Nice healthy breakfast but same...

Very nicely decorated rooms. A place to feel like at home due to the very friendly owners. Very delicous breakfast! It is close to the highway, but this doesn't disturb at night. 5- minutes walk to beautiful area of ortakoy, but to the centre (taksim) or to the major sites (blue mosque) you have to take a taxi which can...

If you need to be close to the centre of Istanbul's European side but don't want to live the hustle & bustle of the historical centre, this place is ideal. Compared to all the other hotels in the region, it is a very good deal. All the rooms are decorated differently in Ottoman style and they are very spacious and...

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
