The hotel is located near two nice malls (Metro City and Canyon) and that’s all. Anywhere else you want to go (Taksim, Sultan Ahmet…) get ready for a long distance and heavy traffic (on our last day in Istanbul and on our way back to the hotel, to get the luggage and head to the airport, we got stuck in...

Nice place in Istanbul for business trips. Check-in was efficient but rather cold, escorted to the room by the porter. My non-smoking room was clearly a smoking room at some point so you could still smell that. Bed was comfortable, flat screen TV and a small desk also present. Unfortunately my room (on the 8th floor) was rather noisy as...

The hotel can not be considered as 5 star hotel, only 3 star with 20 floors. Except the reception, most of the staff was smiling and helpful. But hotel rooms are old, not good ventilated, foods are bad, breakfast was not as good as other Turkish ones. Also there are very limited drinks at sky bar. A board called TMSF...

It's been a year already, and all what i remember about this hotel is the view from the highest floor. Nothing else special. It's on high hill in Istanbul, but far from the centre. Far from Taxim, far from the centre, and far from the main tourism destinations. Good for a quick business trip in istanbul, not for tourism and...

An average hotel, a cheaper option compared to Movenpick and in similar location. I think it is "5 star" by definition, well, if it was newer, cleaner, better-kept, more friendly - maybe... The rooms dont give an impression of being clean, the aircon is noisy, there is no iron, the breakfast os OK though, and the view from higher rooms...

Dowdy rooms, a few suspect smells, tiny beds, people in rooms near me kept me awake all night talking loudly and banging doors. Free wifi. Didn't use restaurants, and breakfast only started at 7 so couldn't even get a coffee before leaving for a flight. This was booked by a local associate, I wouldn't choose it. There are many much...

Easy location, very close to the highway. Plenty of taxi's driving by, so always easy and quick to catch one. Hotel service overall was satisfactory, but nobody was exceptionally friendly towards us. We felt neither welcomed nor unwelcomed, with two exceptions; the woman who worked in the panorama breakfast bar atop the hotel was very nice and happy to see...

Stayed at this hotel for business. Location is a minus as it is quite far away from the Istanbul Convention Centre. The rooms, however, are ok and staff were friendly. The roof-top bar offers awesome views at night, although a bit pricy.

While the pictures look nice, the experience was terrible! They clearly tried to a renovation recently, but only upgraded the furniture to look more modern. I stayed one as my typical hotels in Istanbul was overbooked. The hotel is mid-old 5 star hotel. It is independent, not amember of any hotel chains. The service quality and the size of the rooms needs improvment (if you consider its competitor in Istanbul. it is for central european 4-5 star level) quite good restourant and some times with...

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
