Clean accommodations with friendly and helpful staff located under the Sultanahmet mosque in the Sultanahmet district of Istanbul. Conveniently located near most of the major tourist attractions. Rooms are small but comfortable and efficient and a lovely breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace with a great view of the Bosphorous and Sea of Marmara.

This was my first time in Istanbul, and I am so happy that I stayed here. The location was perfect (walking distance to the Blue Mosque), they chat with me through WhatsApp right away after I booked the hotel to set up tours and an airport transfer, and the staff treated me so well during my stay. Breakfast was especially...

This is actually a review of Deniz Houses hotel, which is owned by the same family. We booked 4 nights at the Naz but were told due to low uptake they were closing it for refurbishment. This is a pity as it looked really cute. To compensate they put us in a sea view room at Deniz Houses, but for...

We stayed for three days and had a spectacular time- largely thanks to help from the lovely staff and ideal venue. Clean, quiet, cozy and right next to the older parts of the city. Definitely a romantic spot for travelers looking to relax. There is a tram close by and the folks who work here know plenty about stuff to...

They have a travel...

The place is awesome - the view from the terrace is great and it is not so difficult to reach - from the Attaturk Airport take metro to Aksaray and then tram to Sultanahmet. From the Sultanahmet in 7 min you will be there :-)

'This is a great listing for visiting the Old City of Istanbul. Your walking distance from all historic sites. And two minutes from the tram which links with all other forms of transport. The wifi is powerful so is the shower. I will return here again!'

We had an 18-hour overnight layover in Istanbul and selected Kamil's place to stay. Very glad we did. The room was clean and comfortable, and the place itself was on a quiet street but near to restaurants and some shops. Easy to get to and from the airport by public transportation. Loved the private terrace and wish we could have...

We really enjoyed our stay at Naz's Wooden Inn. The room was exactly as pictured, very comfortable and clean. Location was in the Old Town, close to many restaurants, and many of the main sites. Breakfast was really great to have everyday with a beautiful view of the Bosphorus Sea on one side and the Blue Mosque on the other....

The staff is one of the best and kindest I have ever seen, truly honouring the proverbial Turkish hospitality! The roof terrace with complimentary fruits, coffee and tea throughout the day is a joy, especially due to its double stunning view: to the Blue mosque on one side and to the sea on the other side. I don't particularly like...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
