The Madison is located centrally right off Taksim and near to Istiklal Street where so much action is. The price is moderately high, but not unusual for this area. Rooms were clean and well appointed, not 4 star by US standards, but much better than other hotels int he area where I have stayed (like the Green Park Hotel). There...

Like any other hotels in Istanbul’s Taksim district, The Madison Hotel is an expensive hotel. If it is necessary for you that you stay close to Taksim square and you are ready to pay more to this purpose, the Madison hotel is a good 4star choice, but if you like a quite area you can book a better hotel with...

I stayed at the Madison Hotel for 6 nights during a recent trip. The hotel is centrally located in Taksim and walking distance from ALL the other hotels and restaurants. I believe other hotels in the same area may be of a higher standard but this hotel is very good value for the price and the service is very, very...

We wanted a hotel where we could relax after a very exhausting day (visiting the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi and crusing the Bosphoros). We have chosen Madison because we though it would have a nice hamman, gym and swimming pool and also its location (5 minutes walking far from shops and restaurants in Isktsal Cadessi.) However, the facilities were...

We spent one night in Madison Hotel. The location is near Taksim Square, and it has a hamam, sauna and turkish steam room included in the hotel fee. The room was very generic, but clean. However, this is the first hotel I can remember where the staff had no recommendations for restaurants nearby. Moreover, when we went to brush our...

the hotel itself was beautiful, breakfast was decent. however, the area was tricky getting into the tourist spots and to eat out at night you needed to head back to the center should have stayed in the center. staff barley spoke english and very useless with where to eat.

The hotel is perfectly located, close to the Metro and Istiklal Cad. The room was cozy, with sat tv, all bathing supplies, a mini bar. I really liked two or three things: -They charged my card an extra night. Before I checked my card statement they contacted me and apologized, returning the money. -I forgot my iphone charger, when I...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
