We had a great experience. The hotel is clean and well run. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good. The Spa provided an excellent package including a Turkish bath and oil massage (very clean and hygienic). The location is good, it is close enough to the main attractions and the tram line is not far away. One...

Charming unique decorated boutique hotel. The owner and his daughter met us when we checking at 8 AM! They found us a lovely room that was available, so we could leave our luggage and hit the streets to sightsee. After an all night flight from US, we didn't want to stop and fall asleep. They offered us the free breakfast...

Classy, cozy, and the staff is super friendly. The rooms are small but very comfortable. We've stayed in two different rooms and both of them had been recently redone. The restaurant is tasty and reasonable and the lobby bar is classy and relaxing. You have to pay an additional fee to access the fitness center and hot tubs, though. Overall,...

If you're going to spend most of your time exploring, and only come home to sleep, this hotel is fine. It is a bit stuck in another decade but it's clean. The room we stayed in was very small, and the view out the window was onto buildings on all sides. There are no baths (although outr bathroom was really...

I went for a brief visit to Istanbul with my wife. We had a wonderful experience during our stay at the YIGITALP Hotel Istanbul (Sulatanamet Area). It is a basic hotel with friendly staff. The reception staff all spoke English quite fluently. We arrived early in the morning & reached the hotel after 7:30am. As our reservation would be effective...

The hotel is very basic, so do not expect anything fancy. We had two different encounters with male receptionist who were not so friendly. The staff of the hotel in general were not friendly, it just felt awkward. We had a friend visit us at the hotel and he was not allowed to go up to our room to visit....

Concluding our 5 city and one Island Europe tour we stayed here for 5 nights. The Yigitalp is certainly one of the best hotels we encountered on our trip. Centrally located and easily accessible, good, clean and well equipped/furnished with a bar and restaurant that provide superior quality and quantity. And then it is such a pleasure to be able...

A great Hotel in the center of old Istanbul. Very clean property with a great breakfast included. The staff was very helpful with all or our needs. Public transportation was only a couple of blocks away. Our stay was delightful. I recommend it! We loved Istanbul for its many charms and very warm people.

It's been a few years since I stayed at the Yigitalp Hotel, yet it remains consistently good. The staff are welcoming and the rooms are of an excellent standard. There are a number of hotels close to the Yigitalp, but it remains a favourite for me. Aksaray is a bustling area mainly selling wholesale clothes. Restaurants are scare, but it's...

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
