We stayed at a house near the hotel and our rental included complimentary breakfasts on the superb rooftop terrace with views across the sea and (behind) the Blue Mosque. Breakfasts were the best we had in a period of ten weeks through England, Scotland, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. The restaurant manager was outstanding-he should be given a...

What i liked most was the breakfast under the roof veranda. Rest was ok but the size of the rooms is relatively small ! Price quality ratio average.

Room 221 had a lovely view looking out over the water, a nice walk-in shower and was clean and airy. Unfortunately none of that matters much if you are being kept awake till 1am from the bangs and crashes coming from above. When I called downstairs to reception to mention this, I found out that really nothing can be done....

We are really sorry about the feelings of our esteemed guest and would like to clarify some points here; As our dear guest might remember, although the receptionist offered to change the room, he did not accept the offer because it was a late hour. Next morning, he had an early check-out and sent an e-mail to the hotel Management...

The rooms overlooking the Blue Mosque and those overlooking the Bosphorus are really very nice!!! Breakfast is a FEAST in itself!!! And the best part of it, is that it's located on the terrace.... amazing view all around!!!!!!! I highly recommend it!!!!!!!

This affordable hotel felt luxurious. It was spotless - yet cozy and welcoming, complete with cotton robes, scuffies and crisp impeccable linens, with a comfy bed. We slept well. Our original plan was to stay at the Armada for a week, tour the south Aegean coast, and then return to Istanbul and stay in a different neighborhood - but we...

My brother, his partner, a friend of ours and I stayed at the Stablesgate House Annex (run by The Armada Hotel) in the Sultanahmet district of İstanbul. I fell in love with the house online when I ran a search for places to stay in the historic district. No matter what other properties I looked at, this one kept calling...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Armada. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were nicely furnished with everything we needed, and the hotel was located near the historical sites so that we easily walk to the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, and many restaurants. We will definitely stay at the Armada when we visit Istanbul again.

What first impressed us was our room: coffee and tea available at no charge and at our convenience, comfy Turkish cotton bathrobes, slippers, and space to stretch out. Then we went to the restaurant and enjoyed spectacular views of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia on one side and the water traffic on the sea on the other. The turtles...

My wife and I consider our stay at the Armada Hotel (Istanbul) to be one of our finest experiences in our 50 years of touring Europe and North America. It started with opening our windows and seeing the Blue Mosque to our left and Hagia Sophia to our right. But it also included superb food in an excellent setting (overlooking...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
