Clean and cozy rooms, helpful staff, supurb breakfast buffet in a covered terrace overlooking the Sea of Marmara, outdoor dining for lunch and dinner with the same fabulous view, and finally the hotel is within easy walking distance of The Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya. I will happily return to the Armada Hotel on future visits to Istanbul.

For us the location was perfect. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main Sultanamhet tourist area but within an easy walking distance of all the main attractions. The annexe is just around the corner from the main hotel where breakfast was taken on the roof terrace. As the weather was extremely pleasant we had the added advantage of...

I staid there for business. Armada is very well located. The rooms are clean and the restaurant ( on the roof with a wonderful view on the sea) offers high quality food (at breakfast you can have fresh orange juice). The people at the reception are very friendly and do all they can to satisfy the customer. If I had...

I have stayed at the Armada Hotel in Istanbul twice now for conferences. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and clean. The breakfast is one of the best in the city - with beautiful views of the Marmara Sea, Hagia Sophia, and Blue Mosque. The hotel is impeccably clean and the staff is very helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend...

I stayed at this hotel for two nights in the second week of May and would thoroughly recommend it. The room and lobby area were attractive, comfortable and clean and the location is excellent for visiting the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. The staff were helpful and courteous and it also has a good restaurant. I paid 150 euros per...

This is my second stay at the Armada and this time I brought my husband and another couple. We all loved the hotel: the ambience, the service, and the clean, comfortable rooms. All the staff did everything possible to meet our needs and desires the entire week we stayed with them. They were always available to answer any of our...

Just returned from 5 nights at the Armada, it wasn't the "cheapest" Istanbul option, but it was worth every penny. Bedroom spacious, comfortable and immaculate, lovely view of the sea. Breakfast terrace has stunning views and a terrific choice and range of - always fresh - food. Staff could not have been more helpful when asked anything on any topic,...

A mix of fine and not so fine. Visually splendid Turkish vegetarian buffet breakfast on top floor with stunning view of the water and playful wild dolphins. I was on my own in a standard room, with view of neighborhood hanging laundry. Was hoping to stay for a full seven days, and tried to negotiate a better price (238 euros...

With all our respects to our guest’s comments and feelings, we must admit that our standard rooms don’t have a special view but we offer Sea and Blue Mosque views from our Superior and Deluxe rooms. On the other hand, we serve the breakfast at the Terrace where you can enjoy the magnificent views of Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia...

The Armada hotel proudly shows off its Tripadvisor average of 4.5 at the reception and they have every right to. Perfectly located near the Blue Mosque and 2 minutes away from Istanbul backpacker's heaven, the Armada hotel is the perfect for demanding travelers, who do not wish to end up in one of the typical chain hotels. Design wise, you're...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
