This hotel is across from the Blue Mosque - so nice setting but very loud call to pray starting at 4:30 am and last one ending at 1o pm. We stayed 3 nights and on the last night our blankets were too small for our bed. We asked for some new bedding to fit our bed, but alas it could...

This hotel's remarkable location with its beautifully kept courtyard gardens gave our guests a unique location for a family wedding ceremony. This stunning hotel in the shadow of the Blue Mosque has a unique atmosphere that is calm and transports visitors to a place of serenity amidst the bustle of Old Istanbul. Search this one out, you will not be...

Good location in the old city within walking distance of a lot of attractions and restaurants. Excellent internet, charming staff. Tried to email the hotel prior to departure from Australia reference airport transfers and unfortunately got no reply.

We stayed six nights in this charming hotel. On arrival we were given a room with a very small bathroom with a hamam in spite of telephoning the day before to say we would like a shower. When we took this up with the front desk the next morning they very kindly gave us a superior room on the top...

After staying a few different places in Istanbul, I now only stay at the Sultanahamet Palace Hotel. The location, right next to the Blue Mosque in the Old City, is excellent from which to walk to see all of the highlights of the Old City. The hotel has a very reasonably priced airport transfer service with a hotel van. But...

A very special place in the old part of Istanbul - Sultanahmet Square. Small hotel, former city house of a noble family, it has a special atmosphere. You can't find a better location as a start to visit the sites of old town. After a hard day sight seeing you can relax in the garden. You just have to do...

Whenever i visit Istanbul the Sultanahmet Palace Hotel is where I stay. I have been there now three times and each time it was a pleasure. I am sure it has happened to some of you that you come back to a place you liked and it is somewhat a disappointment. Not the Sultanahmet Palace Hotel. Clean rooms, great breakfast,...

I visit Istanbul every year on business and Sultanahmet Palace is always my hotel of choice. The hotel ... her professional staff ... the wonderful view ... The "hamam" bathrooms ... the delicious restaurant ... the lovely garden, the perfect location ... What is not to love?

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
