Stayed 2 nights. We had reserved a double "garden" room, but were directed to a 1st floor room. We finally got a twin "garden" room, although they did push the beds together and made them up as a double. Airco worked fine, but the TV didn't. Wifi patchy. And 2 items of clothing (one brand new with tags still attached)...

We arrived 6 o'clock in the morning and we were looked after from then on. Breakfast and soon our room was ready. We were felt we were so close to everything with the blue mosque only 100 metres away. Every time we came back to the hotel we were greeted like long lost friends. They were happy to make complementary...

The hotel is a simple place, dated and even a bit run-down but the rooms are spacious and affordable and clean. The free wifi is reasonably fast. It's literally a 2min walk across the square to the Blue Mosque. However, it's adjacent to an empty lot that is used as a parking lot for locals when visiting the square which...

We transferred to this tasteful hotel after one night in the hotel next door where the bedroom was miniscule - a problem in many of the older hotels in Istanbul. Here we were offered a spacious, well appointed room with a king size bed, fridge, air conditioning, TV/ DVD player and lovely views from the large windows. The shower room...

It is kind of air bnb type. Friendly and helpful staffs. Clean and homy hotel, good value for money. Great location - as it is very near to the downtown. Near to all beautiful places in old city of Istanbul.

I stayed at the hotel when I went to visit Istanbul with my mother from Brussels. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was very cosy with an old Istanbul atmosphere, with a beautiful breakfast terrace overlooking the sea, and just a few minutes away from Sultan Ahmet square, city centre. Personnel was also very helpful taking their time...

This is not a 4.5 star place (current rating on tripadvisor). Yes, location is great but the rooms are small and dingy, bed linens feel dirty, and the bathrooms are grimy. Shower stall is tiny. I didn't want to take a shower because the bathroom was so...gross. For the same price, you can stay 1-2 blocks away at a nicer...

Position is spot on along the Hippodrome-with views of the Blue Mosque from the terraced breakfast area. Loved the resident Charlie the dog -The rooms are small with no tea and coffee facilities so you must go upstairs with no elevator it would be hard for anyone old or trouble climbing the stairs.Very basic room but adequate.

We stayed here for two nights in September, with our 3-year old daughter. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was basic but clean, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was on the top floor with a terrace facing the Blue Mosque. You could also have drinks up there in the evening.

The location of this little boutique hotel is just few steps away from the major attractions in Sultan Ahmet district such as Blue mosque, Hagia Sofia, TopKapi palace and the Istanbul Archaeological Museums, in addition to the grand bazaar and Egyptian/spices bazaar. The terrace has a spectacular view of the blue mosque and the old city that can be enjoyed...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
